Re: Name Changes

Last month you considered deleting your account. Now, because of the latest phase of the moon, you're looking into a name change. Will you be making a subsequent request when your dosage changes?

I don't think people mind making the odd change. It's just the attitude of self-absorbed entitlement that grates. We're not here to prop up your mood when the mercury falls.

You think you've been propping my mood, then? Erm, hmmm

As Radiophonic said:

Yes, I am thinking of leaving too. Homophobic comments on here last night mad me very angry.

Sums up the issue for me. Quite different from a name change. No "entitlement" issue in that.

Nor really in this. As I just asked nicely. If you don't want to change it, then don't. Whatever. Not going to go on about this.

Also, I don't take psych meds other than xanax, and that's for sleep, not anxiety. This is all natural f***-up you're dealing with. At least/my posts/don'thve/allso many/ slants

<--- Did already make my avatar York Minster though, as I didn't think this would be an issue at all. Again, if it is, I drop it now. Thanks, have a good day! :D

You really are brilliantly passive-aggressive. Your snide reply to Steve, quoting him the rules of the forum, was nothing more than deliberate trolling, so you can save the "pleasantries" now. It's perfectly obvious to any vaguely sentient being that we're not here to repeatedly change people's aliases.

Your quoting of Radiophonic is a straw man construction. But while we're on the subject, who was it who took on the homophobes? Yeah, good old Drico. I must have missed your appreciation that night.

Personally, if I were to leave I wouldn't announce it and flounce. I'd just go. Quietly. I certainly wouldn't open a thread with all its concomitant drama looking to have my account deleted. And I most definitely wouldn't open a thread enquiring about account deletion and then come back a month later looking to have yet another name change.

We are not your baby sitters. We don't wear white coats. This place is not all about you. It was here a decade before your arrival and we all coped just fine. We have better things to do than indulge your selfish whims.

*Sigh* You know damn well if I wanted drama, and I were to leave, I would post some "I AM LEAVING NOW YOU BANANAHEADS" where everyone could see. No one ever looks at the support section except mods and a handful of others with a forum issue. I was vocal about my dislike for the homophobic comments in the thread. Taking them on should mean removing the posts, which is what I asked for in the thread.

In the thread I opened, Steve and crew promised to combat the issue. So I left it at that and didn't post again.

Anyway, seriously, don't drag it out. Please (note my continued "regular" politeness) just change my name or don't.

That's it.

The end.

Taking them on means exposing them on the forum, Mr. Backseat Moderator. If we acted in the manner demanded by posters on this forum every time they made a complaint, you'd have been banned years ago.

But I see we are talking about your straw man, now, and not the real issue.

Dude, whatever my "real" issues, I didn't think changing my name would be such a fuss. It wasn't hard the first time (page 3 of this thread). You're looking like the one who wants drama and to continue this discussion. I don't. Can we be done with it? If not, I'll certainly be happy to open the "Drico sucks so bad" thread in the on-topic section

No, you didn't think it would be a fuss at all because you think we're here to do your bidding. When it was pointed out to you that you could make one final change, you decided to get all snide. You can dress that up in smilies and moronic Americanisms all you like, but your card has been marked.

There was no fuss until you got all high and mighty about it. I politely stated that it wasn't something we were going to do over and over with the same user and offered to change it one last time. You made the issue with your reply, as Drico has pointed out. I could have been quite rude in reply, but as always, I let a personal slight go and rose above it.

Consider your name changed anyway. I'm not one to break promises.

Thank you!

(And didn't mean to be rude. Or passive-aggressive. As you guys may have noticed I don't self-censor all that well..not an excuse, just saying)
