That unsettling feeling that so much of his recent work features. Works with this song.

don't have the energy to justify it, but I really like this
So many churning mixes and covers, but he's made it his own

C'mon, really?
He couldn't even get the lyrics right.
If it wasn't for those sleford mods or whatever they're called, who set the bar so so so incredible low, this would be the worst cover ever.

Greetings,
As for the cover, it didn't do much for me but I've heard worse.
Do we still have any people on this forum who like doing those "knockout tournament" style polling contests? A tournament to work out the best Pet Shop Boys cover of all time (we all know it's Carter USM's Rent, by the way) would be a lot of fun. Although we'd probably need to be clear on the rules first, since they've had a hand in some of the covers - e.g. Liza - and that makes it a bit blurry when they're a contributor to it.
Metta,
Paul.
That's what I thought. I thought, "Huh? Is Pete Gleadall Momus?"

Well true enough. If it was an official release I'd say bin it, but as a home-brew it's different enough to be interesting?

Yes, BITTERLY disappointed here!!
I think it's because he used to do things like this, which sort of sounds like a one-man PSB:
