On account of the timing, it reminds me more of the Bilingual Special Edition concept.

Indeed. FL editions of all post 2012 albums will follow in the not too long future as well (using the same format as the pre 2012 backcatalogue). This release is still part of the “album run”.

I think that releasing the demos at the same time as the main album would have undermined the James Ford production too much. Makes perfect sense as a way to round up the campaign though.

Kind of would have wished for an alternate cover to diferentiate it from the main edition.

I find it weird that they open the bonus disc with a cover, and that the demos start at track 5.

It all feels very un-PSB. Or rather like it was meant to be a 3 discs set (1 original album, 2 demos and 3 bonus tracks) but Parlophone chopped it into a 2 discs.

But it'll be interesting to listen to the songs before James Ford.

If the standard vinyl issue is £27 then a triple vinyl for £62 is pretty close to 'buy two, get one free'! A bargain in my book, not a rip off. I mean you don't have to buy it!

I wonder if there will be any sort of interview booklet to accompany the expanded edition? I suspect not.

Another reason it makes sense to release demos is that these days fans can pretty much recreate the instrumentals from the Dolby Atmos mixes and de mixing software, so this gives us something we couldn't have unless there had been a leak!

That's a good point - someone already did this for Nonetheless, so if you're savvy enough you don't really need the instrumentals.

Do their demos ever change that much? Vocal is an outlier but generally they are such good songwriters that the demos are not that dissimilar to the final versions.

Sure, but the demos don't have live strings or brass.

Agreed - so beautiful. Neil said somewhere (Annually?) that he wished he'd gone back into the studio to sing part of it for real, rather than using the Neilatron. I wonder if he's done that for this full version?

I've been checking Amazon UK website intermittently to try and see how much they are going to price the triple vinyl at. They have had the cd listed to pre-order for the last 24 hours, and although a link also to the vinyl, it has just been showing as 'not in stock'

So I went onto the Amazon France site this evening and that does have the triple vinyl listed at €23 (£20 approx) ! I am fully expecting to get something to say this is a mistake and them cancel it, but I have ordered one anyway with an additional €3 postage.
