Glad I'm not the only person who looks at that sort of thing!!

Also: AI, still crap at doing hands.

Love it! Chris doing something very un-Chris and yet very Chris.
This sums it up perfectly! Just when I thought he'd hit peak Chris Lowe the other day (doing the top 30 countdown), he comes along and gifts us with another peak. This guy's a one-man Alps.

For a guy called Lowe, he's certainly on a highe.

Could also be Chris responding to the critique of Neil voice

Anyway Chris he got so much class - just love it. Love when he makes these surprises.

Pretty sure the comments were originally enabled for Schlager-Hitparade (Deutsches Demo) but they turned it off.
I wonder what happened, maybe there was lashback.
I viewed it within the first hour it was uploaded and the comments were pretty positive from what I remember.

Priorities (new sports car, or dentistry?). Also if he's like me, he might be a bit squeamish about going to the dentist. Fair play.

I was also (quite by chance) looking up Shaun Ryder the other day and how he lost all his teeth to drug use. Not suggesting Chris has led quite the crazy lifestyle that SR had, but some of "this and that" also might have something to do with it. Wine, smoking, sour gummies!

FWIW, the British dentistry thing is a total myth - I spent the better part of 37 years going to British dentists, and only got my first cavity in my late 40's (when I'd moved to Canada!). My dentists now even made the comment recently to the likes of "Wow you're from England but you have great teeth!"

As a person with a tiny, crowded mouth and therefore less than straight teeth, despite quite a lot of invasive and traumatic orthodontic work as a teenager (yay for jaw clenching!) I agree, he maybe doesn't want to have his existing teeth filed down to sharp little stubs to have veneers fitted.
He also probably enjoys coffee, red wine and life in general.
Chris is an example of a life well-lived, he survived a period where some of his contemporaries did not make it, more power to him, and his teeth.
My grandmother didn't have a tooth left in her head at his age.

I'd assume the usage of AI-generated tapes across the video must have put off a certain portion of the audience to be vocal about this unusual artistic choice from the duo; especially, now that reception for AI content has been mostly negative nowadays, hence I believe there must have been some disappointment along the way. Further amplified by the unconventionality of this MV as a silly project from Chris that doesn't add much to the content of the lyrics, mostly off-topic.

Now, personally, I don't mind the AI content at all, it somehow works for the same reason this video was made. Just plain silliness. In fact, it's not any less different than the original Paninaro MV with Chris being Chris, with random video shots that don't make much sense aside of Neil & Chris reciting the lyrics in a rather monotone way (as always); with those details in mind, taking the song and its subsequent video seriously was never their intention to begin with, and this new MV is no exception. It's pretty funny, and on point with Chris doing whatever he wants at this stage of events. I'd understand why some people must have disliked it, but for the most part, it's a classic Pet Shop Boys satire.

Hey, Chris does go to the dentist - he's been known to use it as an excuse for not showing up to interviews!

As a cheapskate Brit who moved to the US, it took me 12 years to find a US dentist that I could trust not foist unnecessary dental procedures on me. Bloody American dental health plans, I'm not getting braces at my age so you can buy your damn yacht!

No, they were off the whole time. I saw it when it was published 15 minutes before and the comments were off

I wonder if the comments were turned off because the video uses AI elements and there has been a backlash about using AI for art purposes.

i think the video is funny, and who cares if there is AI in it or not.

i don't hear people complaining about the virtual reality CGI when they
were doing the videos from 'very'.

i really liked those too.
