What PSB track (or part of a PSB track) moves you emotionally? (Crying, goosebumps, etc.)

Oh, using that little jingle to close out Discography was a killer! Really felt like an ending.

I always find God Willing spooky and sad with Neil's echos in the background.

I'm not a cryer as such, but loads of PSB instances jerk something in a way that kind of hurts but not. Of the newer stuff, Cricket Wife is moving. Why am I dancing "when I'm so alone" is a jerker. Burning the heather also, "give me a drink and I'll be gone". Amongst older stuff, London, and more wierdly Hey headmaster. And Your funny uncle.

Your Funny Uncle - I had it played at my dad's funeral.

Just thinking of it brings tears. I'll forever be indebted to Neil and Chris for that song.

Same here, especially the "There's an invitation in the post" part. So beautiful, wonderful melody and harmonies.

hmmm.. this is a good question.

one of the parts has to be from loneliness ( not the radio edit ) when neil asks : Where you gonna run to now
From loneliness? and Who you gonna turn to now From loneliness? ( mainly because i relate to this song a lot, like where are the cameras ?? )

but some other tracks ( other than loneliness ) would be last to die, home and dry, being boring, only the dark, vocal and others ( these are really from the top of my head lol :3 )

Invisible - hits home hard for me as I'm officially "old" now.
In His Imagination - had me emotionally invested the very first time I listened to it as I remember thinking this better have a happy ending or I'm going to be upset.

Well, I went through the songlist. You named a lot (Top one for me ist: The way it used to be).
Maybe I´ve some other examples:
After the event- from the start of the song it gives me a shiver- and it doesn´t stop until the end.
Here: the way Neil sings "call it what you want you´ve got a home here"
Jack the lad- The start with the drums and Neil´s uuuuuhhhhh....
Sense of time ("In these immiment dark ages if you find it too bizarre.....") I´m hearing that a lot in my car when I come from work and no one is around. I hear that really loud and "sing" with him. Great atmosphere!
That´s my impression: The way Neil sing "I went looking for someone I couldn´t find..." You don´t hear this type of voice from Neil very often
and finally in my first decission (I´m sure I would find some more....):
To speak is an sin: Well, great memories because it was the first time I saw them live at the equality show in London 1993 and the way Neil sings "To speak is a sin..." and this "aaaaahhhh". Great topic!

Not a big fan favorite, and they didn’t even write it, but “Numb” is rather emotional. 🥹

Great thread. Numb is one of my criers too. I jumped on a thread called ‘Their Saddest Songs’ when I first signed up here - I do love their emotional tracks as well as the good olde dancing bangers!

Currently nothing beats ‘A new Bohemia’
First track I heard before anything from new album. Guess it’s just imprinted on me now. For personal reasons I well up on EVERY listen. It has so much hope though and I love that!

The first break in “My head is spinning” always gives me a euphoric feeling that something great is coming next, and it certainly does.

“We all feel better in the dark” (After Hours Climax) at 3.33 is pure magic and gives med goosebumps.
Btw, the moaning should have been a man imo.

Eyes are still filling up to “It always comes as a surprise”.

Basically:

- To face the truth
- The end of Nervously
- The chorus of King's Cross
- Jealousy
- The second part of The Theatre
- The end of Your funny uncle
- The chorus of Winner
- The Luke Nutley version of Thursday

Love is a bourgeois construct made me cry the first time I heard it, a week before my 40th birthday.

Still find the lyrics emotional now.
