Maybe the Man Who Sold The World, or maybe Modern Love.

David got away was so much drama in his vocals, not many artists can cover the songs without reigning it all in.

The Laughing Gnome?
Modern Love wasn't made famous by anyone other than Bowie. Same with the Gnomic one.

Not "made famous" though. Only 23 people bought it.

It's almost certainly Dudes, Things or MWSTW as they all have personal resonance with Neil:

The "scarf waver" I Get Along
Oh You Pretty Things was on the first Bowie LP he heard (Hunky Dory)
Man was done by Nirvana, who PSB wanted to cover but also it was out as a Eno mixed re-recorded double A-side the week Neil met Bowie in 95, which led to the Spaceboy single.

Are videos of the performances posted on youtube? I guess they're not going to post all three songs there. Any chance the full "concert" will be streamed as video anywhere?

Yep I can see a bunch of these already on YouTube so expect the PSB one to be available also

Saw the Crowded House one yesterday and they read out some ‘voice notes’ …

not sure how you send them in for the boys show …. not that I expect any question I ask to be read out
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

Thanks for the replies, I'll keep an eye out on Youtube for some proper video registration!

Hmm, the website states it'll be broadcast on Sunday, while the initial announcement was the 23rd, Friday.

Closing Radio 2's Piano Room Month 2024 are one the most iconic duo’s in pop music - it’s the incredible Pet Shop Boys. Neil and Chris will be performing a special set alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra, with a quintessential Pet Shop Boys take on a cover of ‘All The Dudes’, plus their classic 'Left To My Own Devices' and new track 'Loneliness'.

If you have access to BBC iPlayer the performance is usually on there on the same day. Today’s performance is already there.
If I thought what you’d think I wouldn’t even be here.

‘All The Dudes’, whatever happened to proof reading and accuracy?
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Well … they are no longer ‘young’ so it’s quite correct

Also the wording makes it sound like they’ve done their version based on a over of the original. Although what constitutes the original, Mott the Hoople or the version released by the songwriter himself?

.

Isn’t it observational as opposed to biographical though? 😉

Greetings,

Interesting - I'm expecting something of an I Get Along / I Started A Joke vibe to it.

Should be good, but I'm really excited to see what they do with Left To My Own Devices.

Retro. :)
