I loved the Insanely Alive remix too. It's my most played track last month. I say: bring on more remixes!!

Re: Noel Gallagher PSB Remix.
Speaking of NG and the Pets, I really appreciated their messages of condolences following the death of Steve Mackey last week, the bassist in my favourite group, Pulp.

24 hours remaining. (Aus timezone)
Looking forward to it.
From Annually: "It is very Euro," says Neil. "It's catchy. I've sung a double tracked vocal all the way through the song. and then put the harmony on the de da de de da to make it jump out." Also it make it sound more like the Pet Shop Boys."

Unfortunately I think this is a description of the other mix, the one that isn’t currently scheduled for release.DopeFiend wrote:48 hours remaining. (Aus timezone)

Yes. I recall reading somewhere recently that Noel loved both mixes but one of them sounded just too 'Pet Shop Boys' to be included on his album..Dog wrote: ↑Wed 31 May 2023, 3:00 pmUnfortunately I think this is a description of the other mix, the one that isn’t currently scheduled for release.DopeFiend wrote:48 hours remaining. We'll see what the chosen mix sounds like.
By the way, it's only 24 hours! And the song will be available in Dolby Atmos, so a 5.1 channel mix.

New article:

Also widening the appeal are remixes by The Cure (Pretty Boy) and Pet Shop Boys (Think Of A Number). “To my ear, Pretty Boy sounds like a cross between The Cure and The Cult, an era of alternative music which I f*** love. I was f*** so blown away that [Robert Smith] got involved. I went to see the Pet Shop Boys at Glastonbury, f*** amazing. I thought the track was very ’80s, and they’d just done a remix for Weller, and they agreed to do it. It’s f*** quite the thing, let me tell you.”

Surprised to discover that it's quite a good remix of a fairly good song...with a lovely piano based middle-eight section that sounds very PSB.

Yes, it's on rutracker.
Still, the Bowie remix was their peak. It had an interesting sound, and it sounded innovative.
Like, this dude sang in Oasis, but it sounds like he's singing Let's come together right now.
Oh yeah, in sweet harmony
His brother's album sounds definitely better. I mean CMON YOU KNOW.
Diamond in the Dark is an amazing song. And the whole album is good, as is Why Me? Why Not.

Re: Noel Gallagher PSB Remix.
i really like the remix, its very upbeat, and they have converted the album version
into much more upbeat, techno.
the main problem with this and the other mixes, is its only about 5 and half minutes long.
which is way too short to really develop.
still, it would make a great single, add some other mixes, and dubs to it, and it would be
worth getting.
i'm checking out the other mixes too from the album.
