I didn't realise they were mates with Fab Macca Wacky Thumbs Aloft. What is the story behind that?

They’re both Beatles fans and I rather like that they have the respect and friendship of one of the greatest songwriters of all time.

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

Yeah, I'll set my VPN to the UK on Sunday to watch it on iplayer. Watched Rufus earlier today, which was very good. Sadly, no Sugababes on iplayer, but I did saw a glimpse of them on BBC 2.

Some people can say Paul McCartney and Pet Shop Boys never have been in something together.TallThinMan wrote: ↑Fri 24 Jun 2022, 4:51 pm They’re both Beatles fans and I rather like that they have the respect and friendship of one of the greatest songwriters of all time.
Well, they have been in this:

Neil and his sister were massive fans of The Beatles. I remind you Neil Tennant wanted to be part of Parlophone to share the same record lable with The Beatles.TallThinMan wrote: ↑Fri 24 Jun 2022, 4:51 pm They’re both Beatles fans and I rather like that they have the respect and friendship of one of the greatest songwriters of all time.

Noel Gallagher just being interviewed live on BBC2, twice saying he was really looking forward to watching PSB tomorrow night! Never had Noel down as a fan, fair play.

Wow! Would not have expected that ….
Is the interview on iPlayer somewhere?

you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional
Re: Glastonbury 2022
Many years ago, David Walliams interviewed Noel for some magazine. One of his questions was if he liked the Pet Shop Boys. If I remember rightly Noel’s answer was something along the lines of he quite likes West End Girls.

Yea
If you Goto headliners& legends and select Noel Gallagher the interview is on after his set, think it’s about 65 mins in
Re: Glastonbury 2022
Just because I don’t think it’s entirely clear, it looks like there are two ways to watch PSB at Glastonbury tonight. BBC Four have the whole PSB set from 10pm to 11:30pm. However, this is a slight pre-record, as PSB are actually scheduled to be on stage from 9:40pm to 11:15pm. If you want to watch the set as it goes out live, then head to BBC iPlayer which is streaming all the main stages as they happen. However I do note that Paul McCartney was absent from the iPlayer coverage last night, so I can’t be entirely certain we’ll get PSB in this way.
Woof.

For those that can’t access iPlayer, here is what was said:
Noel: “…and then tomorrow, I really wanna see Pet Shop Boys, I’ve never seen ‘em live.”
Host: “Me too.”
Noel: “...I only found out today they were on and I was like, brilliant.”
Talking about Sunday plans
Noel: “…take it easy tomorrow, then Pet Shop Boys, it’ll be great.”
