The rejected PSB song in a Bond's movie (video)

#1 Post by Nickname »

PSB and many other first division bands have seen their songs rejected.

I think is quite interesting to see part of the song with the opening of the movie Living Daylights:

You can watch here This must be the place I waited years to leave with:

It would have been horrible. Plus A-Ha’s is probably the best bond theme ever.
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.

Interesting to you maybe. To me audio and video are two different things, so seeing an edit where someone has plonked This Must Be The Place over some James Bond intro really is a bit worthless.
Everyone knows the PSB Living Daylights demo doesn't have the vocals anyway, and there's the other instrumental demo which is a bit more interesting given the fact it doesn't have a commercial release.

When I saw the title of the thread "Rejected PSB Song" I was expecting something new. Like wow here's the Fuzz Box demo written and produced by PSB now released in full, or something we haven't seen before.

That's a fun list. Rejected Bond songs... it could be a killer compilation album

Get away with you. Off the top of my head I can think of at least four that are better.

A-ha's song is top tier Bond themes for me. Usually, I think the songs are better than the movies.

Interesting to hear the love for A-Ha’s The Living Daylights here. It always sounded rather phoned in to me.

I think it’s probably A-Ha’s best song and I think the aloofness of the vocals (not 100% sure I agree but let’s roll with it) match the personality of Bond. 10/10

FWIW the correct order is…

1) The Living Daylights
2) Live and Let Die
3) Die Another Day

The rest are awful.

A View to a Kill - Duran Duran , was a massive hit and captured me as well, usually bond tracks and movies are not a thing Im into.

Glad we got to enjoy This must be the place I waited years to leave as it is on Behaviour.

My only issue with AVTAK is that it seems like a shoddy mash-up beaten a bespoke bond song — A View to a Kill — and something Duran Duran had on the shelf called Dance into the Fire.

By the way, for me the best ever Bond's song is this. What an amazing song is this!:

Fun fact, Duran also had a theme rejected for Tomorrow Never Dies, in favour of Sheryl Crow. It’s on YouTube and ended up as Last Day On Earth on Pop Trash. Two would have been greedy.

Pulp did too. They changed it from Tomorrow Never Dies to Tomorrow Never Lies and released it as a B-side.
