I have never heard Autechre, listened to for the first time and I am very impressed. I am a little bit embrassed of not knowing them because they have been around since 1987?

I’m a fan as well. Their earlier releases are quite different to how they sound today. If you like what you hear it is worth going on a little journey and working through them in order. The first releases are melodic and rooted in hip-hop and acid house. Late 90s / early 2000s they moved away from this sound and towards the more abstract and experimental, using algorithms to create their tracks. Live they are a different proposition again; far more direct and four to the four, sometimes playing pretty much in total darkness. Definitely worth checking out.
Funny how PSB fans like New Order but the reverse seems to be less the case. I've seen some nasty comments on NOs Facebook page about PSB.
Maybe that'll keep the riff raff out when the Unity tour finally gets underway
The NO fans are rabidly pro or anti Peter Hook too. Its a madhouse fandom. Can you imagine ever having to take sides between Neil and Chris? I could never do it.

I was born in a hospital room with green walls, the doctor who delivered me wore a green overall, so did the nurses hovering around. So much greenery around, its no wonder that it is my favourite colour !

That's because of indie (guitar rock) snobbery.
I think it's also a Manchester thing.
I don't get it myself ...
PSB = Pop-synth
New Order = Indie-synth
Depeche Mode = Rock-synth
Kraftwerk = Synth-synth
it's all good!
I wonder on a similar note what do Depeche Mode fans think of PSB?
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

I think there's a level of respect, but PSB are considered sometimes a bit too lightweight, that's the general consensus I feel - at least on the forum I am part of, HOME.
That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

If PSB are lightweight, what does that make Fletch?

Well they were also "a little bit lightweight" as well before they decided to be pseudo-gothic hard boys.
