Here We Go..It's The Agenda Poll
I think this is on topic given the recent output and discussion that has ensued.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys

Re: Here We Go..It's The Agenda Poll
Greetings York Minister,
I can't vote in your poll, because the virtually one-dimensional nature of your scale (aside from the Libertarian option) ignores the Authoritarian - Libertarian axis, which is arguably more crucial now than ever.
If I had to pick an option I'd pick Libertarian, but you've got to get rid of the corruption and waste embedded in the bloated and deeply entrenched bureaucratic state first, and Libertarian candidates are typically too "principled" to do that necessary work of challenging that roadblock head on. Some might say they need to keep off the grass.
Retro.

My liberal friends think I'm something of a conservative. My conservative family and friends think I'm a liberal. I think I'm a centrist -- or, as I often like to say, a "radical moderate." I dislike extremism of any stripe. I think my sympathies lean toward libertarianism, although I dislike extremist libertarianism, too.

I've often thought it must feel a bit strange to be a right winged Pet Shop Boys fan. There can't be many albums of theirs which could be played without that fan's finger hovering over the 'skip' button.
It'd be a bit like being a socialist with a bizarre fascination for, fffffffffffffff... I dunno, Molly Hatchet or Kid Rock or something.

What about the ‘couldn’t give a s***’option?
Or the ‘too fed up to care’ option?

Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning.

Somewhere undecided between center left and social democracy. At least in italian terms, political catholicism can be rather phony and corrupt, but I've experienced left-wing cultural haughtiness and right-wing complete lack of compassion as well, and I found the latter is very much the worst of the lot. But I've got a feeling that If I lived somewhere else I'd be probably more of a center-right guy.

Re: Here We Go..It's The Agenda Poll
Part of the equation is the way you express your ideas, if there's some flexibility or not in your approach. And if you let politics be the center of your creativity or understand there's more to life than this. If you take Roger Waters, for instance, I don't like the fact that ever since he left Pink Floyd he doesn't sing about anything else but politics and corporations greed and the way television controls our minds. Very clever, thank you. On the other hand, consider Robert Wyatt: I can't say I agree with his very strong left-wing vision, but he has the greatest way to express his ideas, i.e. with a playful approach, sometimes almost childlike and generally unpretentious, which made him totally original and very admired by a whole lot of different musicians. Here in Italy we have mr. Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, who started as an angry left-wing punk rocker and later moved slowly towards catholic ideas, until he turned into a sort of controversial right-wing supporter. (His most famous band was called CCCP). But in his current shows he still mixes his old songs along with his more recent material, which is strongly inspired by his new-found faith, and the result is surprisingly well balanced.toasterinthebath wrote: ↑Fri 15 Feb 2019, 3:55 pm I've often thought it must feel a bit strange to be a right winged Pet Shop Boys fan. I see this all the time, this view above. liberals really are just totally stuck with politics. they literally are so inside themselves they just cannot tell how silly they sound and understand people arent like themselves. oh yes, the skip button. the fact you assume that about people who happen to be on a farther side of the spectrum pretty much outs you as simply the other side of the coin.toasterinthebath wrote: ↑Fri 15 Feb 2019, 3:55 pm I've often thought it must feel a bit strange to be a right winged Pet Shop Boys fan. besides, the PSB are hardly the lighthouse for liberalism. now,"Public Enemy" THATS a band worthy of being a political band.
the PSB are about as strong as a soy non fat latte as far as putting out anything of serious weight. they just ride the wave of whatever young people on twitter are dishing about and then go to the studio and put out the cute version of said thing.
