Imagine U2, Depeche, Erasure etc doing virtually NO promotion for the lead single in a greatest hits campaign? It's what we got with DJ Culture and Was It Worth It. Looking back, it was a ridiculous move. Your first (and at the time maybe ONLY) Hits album and you chuck out a video and do no promotion....

I can only assume that both Was It Worth It? and DJ Culture, plus Discography we're all released just a few months after the end of the Performance tour and they (perhaps Chris more) just wanted a break.. But in hindsight it made no sense whatsoever to do virtually zero promotion. A voice over advert from Mark Goodyear for Discography just wasn't going to cut it...

I remember that Top Ten show when Tom Watkins spoke about their reluctance to do promotion - obviously by 1991, they were no longer having to contend with his iron fist.

I remember his comments too. Something along the lines of they hated doing promotion but he said to them that if you don't do it, then no one else is going to do it for you.. I don't think it's too much of a coincidence that PSB most successful period (the infamous Imperial phase) was with Tom as their manager. Who knows how things would have panned out had he stayed as their manager throughout the '90's and beyond.. Now there's a discussion...

Apparently another presenter is withholding permission for their episodes to be repeated. So over the next year BBC 4 will be skipping 15 episodes. At least 1992 was a quiet year for the boys. Hopefully the episode featuring Disappointed, will be shown.

I saw that. I haven't even heard of the muppet; at least Smith was known as the worst helicopter pilot in the world. Was It Worth It?'s five seconds are at risk but Disappointed looks safe.

I’ve no memory of any of these new presenters, never heard of any of them. I think this must be when I got a Sega Mega Drive for Christmas, so I missed a lot of TV around this time.

On a side note, The JAMS performing Its Grim Up North on the last episode is the single most greatest performance on that show ever.
