Make a wish: Collaborations

#1 Post by minimal »

I wish Gorillaz would collaborate with PSB for their new record to be released this year. Incidentally, JEAN-MICHEL JARRE seems to be aboard.

Kraftwerk & Giorgio Moroder, just to see what it produces...probably Vince Clark as well for the same reason as although it'll probably never happen i'll be pretty disappointed if it never happens

Chvrches or years and years would be "interesting"

Outside of Electronic and the Liza album - both of which benefited from being produced during their imperial phase - the collaborations are always somehow less than the sum of the parts. "PSB will work with Bowie and Kylie!" How far was the reality from the vision. Elton John, Tina Turner, Shirley Bassey...

Zayn Malik and Taylor S./Neil made his voice so ..country in Happiness, so now they might match quite nice.

The only PSB collaborations I'd be interested in are ones that will never happen. Like a PSB/McCartney track.

A PSB/Hans Zimmer track would be interesting.

PSB/Royksopp! That COULD conceivably happen.

PSB produced by Client Liaison would be amazing!

That could! Neil likes Olly's voice and I think they would sound good together.

Some song about a young guy and an older guy getting together. Provocative! ;P

Years and Years are pretty shit, except the song King. Cliched and unoriginal damce nonsense.
Have a look at my taste in music:

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

Am I alone in PSB fandom in being totally uninterested in collaborations? It seems to be everyone's dream, the Pets working with so-and-so. It can be fun as and when it happens ("Brick England" sounds good) but I get very bored when people suggest they hook up with endless artists who "sound a bit electro-pop". God forbid they do an album of duets.
Heaven is possible,
AFTER ALL.

^ Agreed, those who claim to have been influenced for years get on my nerves.

Robbie Williams with 'She's Madonna' was ok and the video had some shameless costumes
How about Tinie Templah? He's ruined enough songs already with his countless collaboratioins, it could only be a matter of time

Adele could sing one of her suicidal tracks over a PSB backing?

Nah, I doubt it, thank God

Amigos from Germany. The most popular Duo since Modern Talking there. Every Album is NO.1. 100% Schlager and the Production is far better than Stuart Price Hahaha. A Collaboration would make my wildest dreams come true. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HWzu1ME2pY

Erm, no. Guess they're an unstoppable comeback machine now. It's time for them to re-brand themselves as "a-hem".
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)
