It's a nice song, isn't it? :) It was originally meant to be in Closer to Heaven and was cut out. What you're listening to is the demo.

It's a bit half-assed as far as the melody.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys

Thanks guys- I have heard many demo's, but missed this one somehow.

Yes, can hear it's from the Closer to heaven era.....
Would be nice to hear it completed, it really does have great potential.

It's my absolute fave "demo" of theirs. I even asked Neil about it when they did the record/"Catalogue" signing in NYC after the FUNDAMENTAL TOUR concert and Neil had to think about it a second and then said "oh yes we like that one but I'm not happy with the lyrics". 8)

How many mixes are there as this is different to the normal 4.51 min mix??
Is the you tube mix a fan remix of the original demo or the mix called something else??

That was a link to a youtube file. But it wasn't the original version but a remix so I deleted it.

some of those lyrics are a bit cringeworthy. "so express yourself to impress..."I'm on your side!"
well thats just swell neil.

I love how the drums drop out of the second chorus though. thats a nice touch. also those backing vocals he does near the end.should be more of those.

Well, it was circa Closer To Heaven.

First time hearing this. This is pretty nice for an unreleased song. With a little work it would have made a better b-side than the former enfant terrible or gin and jag IMO
