Roskilde Festival

#1 Post by oso70 »

Apparrently they are supposed to play Roskilde this summer.
From Billboad.com: "Pet Shop Boys will play European festivals this summer as part of the campaign for their 10th album "Yes" (Parlophone), including a headlining appearance at Denmark's Roskilde Festival according to keyboard player Chris Lowe."

This probably means we won't get a proper concert i Denmark. Thank god I got a ticket for the O2 gig.

I still think they will do a one off concert in Copenhagen for Denmark!

Maybe if Yes would get up higher than #12 on iTunes in Denmark they would think about it :shifty:

I don't understand why "they" choose to play rockfestivals. It is not exactly their target audience. I am a big PSB fan, but I am not going to pay 1785 DKR (£220) to see them.

they choose "festivals"! They don't check if this are rock or pop festivals! They possibly won't play on a heavy metal festival...

I read complaints about this before. Be glad they visit your country, they could also skip it in favour of bigger markets. It's not as if Denmark, with it's 5.4 million inhabitants, is the most important country for PSB to visit.

And what's wrong with a festival appearance? It gives them much more exposure than some fan-only concert, in a venue for a few thousand people.

In the Netherlands, PSB never played at a festival; I wish they would, rather than doing a concert in a venue with only 1,500 seats....

I think you are in the minority with that opinion. I would love to see them at a small venue.

But why do they choose to play festivals? Is the profit bigger from playing festivals? There must be a good reason for this.
