Australian News Roundup

#1 Post by Rusty »

I've opened this new topic as a source of news for Aussie fans regarding Love etc and Yes. Here is the latest:

* I have it on good authority that Yes is now available in stores in Australia (or at least in Hum on Oxford in Sydney). I'm not sure about Yes etc, but will check it out tomorrow and confirm.

* Love etc EP stays steady at # 12 on the Australian iTunes album chart after peaking at #11 yesterday. I think it's fair to say we're all a bit astonished at this given the ZERO publicity it has received so far. It will be interesting to see if this translates to a place on this week's singles chart.

* For those in Sydney, Yes gets a small but glowing review in the Sydney Star Observer. Not a dud track on the album they say (here here!). SX magazine has a full one page ad for Yes, and a small article with an extract from Attitude magazine.

If anyone else finds anything worth reporting, feel free to post it here.

Hey, thanks Rusty!

Yes is getting some good publicity on the SameSame website (Australia's GLBT community). I posted the article here:
http://www.petshopboys-forum.com/viewto ... =1&t=20482
They also have a pretty cool animated banner ad which pops up from time to time.

Will check JB's tomorrow to see if Yes/Etc. has made its way to the Top End.
And everything about tonight feels right and so young
And anything I'd want to say out loud will be sung
It's in the music...

JB Hi-Fi told me they will have Yes and Yes Etc tomorrow morning.
Love Etc isn't getting a physical release. I don't understand how it is doing so well here. Top 75 would've been a surprise.

One of the Love etc EP's has now spent several days in the top 20, and both have been sliding up and down the chart since they were released last week, but it's yet to make an appearance in the Top Songs. All this probably means is that you only have to sell 20 albums to make the iTunes top10 here. Anyway, I'm really curious to see if they make the Australian singles chart this week.

It would suggest that, but in a country with 20 million people, surely you'd have to move a few copies to get to 11/12.

JB's also told me that they will have it in store today.

I looked for a review of Yes in the local music mag, X-Press, but didn't see anything.

Greg, Love Etc is on the local iTunes. I just fired it up and it was on the landing page as a new release. Regardless I did a search on Pet Shop Boys Love Etc and 2 "Love Etc - EP" albums came up. The remixes, and the normal 4 track.

Hrumph... well, I went down to JB's this morning and there were no copies of Yes to be seen anywhere. Spoke to the woman at the counter and at first she had no idea what I was talking about (PSB? Yes? Who's on first? ), then said weeeeellll it might be out today or it might be out on Monday.
Typical Darwin.

Jealous of all of you down south 'in civilisation' (to quote my MIL)! I can't wait to get my hands on the physical copy. Of course, I'm getting both versions.

I did a quick scoot around the city at lunch time, only JB HiFi stocking Yes, not sign of etc anywhere yet. Red Eye Records have import copies of Love etc CD1 as well as local version of Yes. I bought both from here and ordered CD2. Completely forgot to ask about Yes etc.

Love etc gets another spin on Rage tonight at about 2am.

Greetings,

Still no posting of my Yes Etc from CD WOW... I'm expect that to be sent over the next couple of days. Oh well... you wait this long, a little longer won't hurt I guess.

Retro. :)

Another one for my growing collection of PSB rage clips. They've had a good run
on Rage int he last 12 months. Evidence of a PSB revival even at the arts end of the world.
