PopArt - US release?

#1 Post by mhvbear » Wed 26 Jul 2006, 11:03 pm

The was posted on todays musictap.net website.
You'll find Pop Art from Pet Shop Boys moving to October 3 from its originally slated date of September 26.
In the past this website has been pretty reliable.
Is this the cd release or the dvd release. The info didn't say.
Is this going to be a Rhino releases. It does come out just before the start of the US tour.

I bought a copy of the PopArt DVD at Fry's Electronics quite a while back.
It's made in the EU , Parlophone label, not a bootleg but it's all region and NTSC.
I can't remember the exact price but it was under $30.
Number on front sticker 4909309 and barcode number 07243 490931 9 5 just in case it helps.

I'm surprised it's going to be released at all in light of the diversity of US labels involved in the PSB back catalogue.

Media Play (RIP) had copies of both the DVD and the CD the summer after it came out (I guess that would be 2004?). I think I bought the CD first and it was $29.99, the DVD $24.99. Both were available as imports to the fans that wanted them....to release them now makes little sense but I guess if they have some sort of deal with Rhino...Hopefully it will be low priced.

Wasn't that they argument about it not coming out. Then again, this happens all the time. Cher's been on like a hundred labels but she manages to release a slew of hits sets. The recent one probably collected songs from at least four labels.

Minimal is still struggling to remain in Top 20.
The CELL by Stephen King instantly hit number 1 in New York Times Bookseller Lists selling well over 200 thousand copies in three weeks. This affirms my opinion: People really need an occassional good horror read...

Considering "Break 4 Love" was a big dance hit, it should be included but I'm sure won't. It will probably be a copy of the original.

According to todays MusicTap.net website PopArt is getting both a cd and dvd release on October 3rd in the US.
I am curious if there will be changes to the US release. Only time will tell. Not seen anthing mentioned on the Pet Shop Boys official website.

I'm hoping they release the three cd one! I've got the imported two-cd, and a friend and I found the imported DVD in Virgin in Los Angeles. I've also found the dvd in Tower in DC. but I've yet to see any imports of the three-cd promo.

If you also can't find them online, I'm not really sure you will have much of a chance obtaining them dude. I don't know anyone with the 3CD promo (I do actually but I won't reveal his name - not even 10 were made!!!).
