Still hoping for a decent and complete Glastonbury 2000 broadcast.

IIRC in around the mid nineties there was an interview in Q with Sparks where they sort of implied that PSB owed them a debt as they were so obviously heavily influenced by them. The next issue carried quite a catty riposte from Neil, via the letters page
"All pop music is rearranged Vince Clarke and rearranged Sparks,” declares producer and songwriter Jack Antonoff in the documentary. He is one of many notable names – Beck, Flea, Björk, Tony Visconti – to pop up, and another is Clarke himself. Sparks was the first single he bought and he played it until the groove disintegrated. Clarke’s Erasure also took inspiration from Sparks’s on-stage personas, marrying a sullen keyboard player and theatrical singer. “There’s myself, the guy from the Pet Shop Boys, and Duran Duran,” Clarke says in the film. “We’re all miserable f***; it’s a look which we just stole from Sparks.”

... i like the little mention of the PSB's in the new Sparks documentary. Question(to Neil): "Why don't you guys ever acknowledge Sparks?" Neil's answer(with a scornful look): "You are very naughty." (then walks away).

Not sure if you can get this back again but, towards the end of last week - either Thursday or Friday. Pointless BBC1 had a Pet Shop Boys question as the last question as the people won it. I only caught the very end of it. :)

Currently listening to BBC 6 Music and its The Blessed Madonna with an hour of Bobby Orlando - she just played the Bobby 'O' version of 'One More Chance' which I have not heard most of before. Loving all these tracks as I can hear bits of early PSB.

The 'Girly - Trouble' track sounds very influenced by 'Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round'

Last year I was quite happy to find original vinyl copies of 'The Flirts - Passion' and 'Bobby O - She Has A Way' in my local second hand record shop...they sound fantastic - the basslines!

Try It...original (covered for Disco 3) playing now

There’s a little bit about the boys, on episode 2 of The 80s - Music’s greatest decade? It’s currently on BBC IPlayer

The week before that (I am sure it was). There was a programme about Trevor Horn on. The same channel (BBC2). I don't know if PSB's were on it or not as I haven't seen it yet. :)

There was a brief visual mention of PSB (a snippet of West End girls video) in last week's episode.
