What is the woman/man (can't tell, lol) saying throughout the bits with the strings?

Is it a sample?

I wonder if it's Chris. According to the Literally before last he sang the melody into his phone, and then they Bluetoothed it straight onto the track. Although it doesn't sound like him, it is the melody, so it could well be.
Woof.

I believe its what broooklyn said.
" I'll never love again....I'm all alone." I think it is chris.

I dont know what the point is about the phone story though, as those lyrics didnt actually make it intom the song and as far as I can tell the melody didnt either(except for a tiny part with the cello soundbut thats before the song). match up how chris sings "Ill never love again" to any melody neil sings, it really doesnt happen in the song.

pretty sure its "I'm all alone again, I'm all alone"

and that is the same melody in the middle part of the song (From 3:25-4:00)

"I'm all alone again... I'm all alone"

From Geowayne's site:
"The lengthy opening passage of this track may seem mystifying until you understand its origin. According to the April 2005 issue of Literally, this song, written in early 2005, "was built around a melody and vocal line Chris sung into his Nokia mobile phone as he was walking home over Waterloo Bridge in the rain." Chris is quite pleased that he and Neil stayed with what he had originally sung: "So I have got perfect pitch, everyone, despite what the critics might say." Chris can still be heard there in the opening, the comparatively low quality of the original recording of his voice lending it a haunting air that contributes greatly to the dark mood of the song. As for the words he's singing, they're not absolutely clear, although a good guess is 'I'm all alone again—I'm all alone.'"

I dont know, thats the popular version, I believe the second thing he says is indeed" I'm all alone, but if you listen closely it sounds like the first thing is "I'll never love again". it definetly sounds like the word "never" is in there.

Now that you mentioned it, it sounds like "never"

It doesn't sound like him IMO, it sounds like a woman on an intercom thing...
