Uncensored Being Boring now posted
The new HD version of the classic “Being boring” video is now available to watch on the official PSB YouTube channel. A previously unused American edit of the video had been mistakenly upgraded and uploaded - this has now been deleted.
Being Boring
Like to talk after sex, and a lot. I have to show today what I talked about afterwards:
In a world full of contrasts and hidden secrets, the video about "Being Boring" from the Pet Shop Boys tells more than just a story - it reflects my own trip. The album * Behaviour * is more than music for me; It is a mirror of my memories, my longings and the wild years that shaped me. Instead of wedding night and hamburgers, they chose homosexuality and roses on the cover - the silent melancholy that accompanied me through growing up.
The video looks like a whisper from my past: old manor and mansions, castle with a swimming pool, the untuned Grand Piano, hats full of questions and secrets. It is reminiscent of those times when alcohol, coffee and cola were my constant companions - and I myself the only mystery. Nobody knew exactly who I really was, but everyone felt that there was more - an unspoken secret, a lost labyrinth of love, loss and self -discovery.
Just like back then, between the venerable walls of monumental mansions and the teachings of Rudolf Steiners, everything was flooded by rules and offered. A church in every village, in every district a sanctuary - the pursuit of order, the pursuit of the saint. Baptism, a ceremonial introduction to this world, made everything sacred - both human and everyday. A feast of awe, dressed in the style of a past era, with white shirts, ties and the breastfeeding that covered everything and at the same time revealed.
But behind this elegance there was a warning message: there is no holy - neither humans nor food! Because the real world is much more complex, darker and more complex than the rules and rituals are willing to admit. And so my story, like the video that brings me to the edge of the possible, wears a melody of shadows and light that is never completely silent .
The video for "Being Boring" of the Pet Shop Boys appears like a reflection of my own inner world. It looks as if it is captivating the fragility and depth of our longings - a melody of nostalgia, unfulfilled dreams and quiet hope that life may be more than just the fleeting moment. In the hypnotic pictures and melancholic sounds, I feel the essence of the sacramental events and birthday parties that I experienced in the old rooms of the Rudolf Steiner schools in Loheland and Bergstedt. These meetings, bazaars, monthly celebrations, child's activities in the back room of the St. Thomas Becket Church in Hamburg, were like Holy Ceremonies - Places where faith and community gave me where you should look for the life partner, but often remained alone.
The video looks like a memory that the search for truth and love often remains uncertain. The bottle spirit that you are looking for - a symbol of fulfillment, happiness or the secret that nobody knows - is a metaphor for the unattainable dreams in this context. Who are the women you meet? Successful, beautiful, but still singular - like aliens in an otherwise familiar world. They seem to be the puzzle pieces in the great mystery of life, but none really fits. Without dating, only your own fate and the hope that one day someone will appear who touches your own spirit.
In this world full of ideals and expectations, few tolerant farmers allowed me to gain experience in biodynamic agriculture for a few months outside the normal framework of the Rudolf Steiner School. Life in harmony with nature, the simple gathering of experiences in the field, in harmony with the seasons - that was my attempt to find real contact with earth and life. Everything should be with a partner with whom you live the sacramentsbe connected: life together, children baptism, fixed values. But reality often looks different: alcohol only on Sundays, respect for human rights, the highest standards and quality - but love sometimes remains unreachable, hidden behind social expectations.
My studies of the humanities, completed before the wedding night in the red light milieu - a decision between the worlds that still shapes me today. It is a struggle with the questions: do we only meet for one night, or do deeper feelings develop from them? And while in these moments I sway between the search for eternal love and the fleeting encounters, the "Being Boring" video looks like a memory that life itself sometimes appears boring-if you are looking for special and only find the everyday shadows. The hope of grasping the bottle spirit - the perfect partner, the ideal life path - remains, but often it is only a quiet wish, little more than the echo of a soul that longs for connection ..
I often think back to the moment when I ended my studies of the humanities in the red light milieu before my wedding night-a decision that shaped my life sustainably. At that time we made an appointment for one night without knowing whether feelings would arise between us or whether we immediately separate again. This moment, as fleeting as a hallucination, remained in my memory-similar to the feeling of a Dallmeyer coffee under the clock from Schloss Richthof, which is reminiscent of the "Being Boring" video of the Pet Shop Boys, in which loneliness and longing are discussed.
Holiness begins when you separate from the woman with whom you first had sex. My life has changed since then - experience has shaped my soul. We have known since Rudolf Steiner that true education and the pursuit of meaning can only really be fulfilled with the right partner. Today I work at Siemens Energy, one of the best -known employers in Germany, and overnight people in a hotel room in another city - proof of how my life has developed since then. Since Rudolf Steiner, Catholics, Christians from Switzerland have been able to live worldwide.
The other day I walked past the house where it all started - the first time sex, the feeling of an astral projection, as if I had brought my ethereal body back to life. It was as if the memory shone in a warm, golden light source - paired with the beauty of the woman who was with me at the time: her eyes were deep and radiant, as if they could penetrate the soul, and her smile was gentle and yet full of fire. Her face belonged to the delicate contours, which were so vulnerable and yet as powerful at the same time, while her hair sparkled in the light like flowing gold. It was the beauty of intimate presence that touches your heart and captures the moment in time and space.
In the same quarter the old burger restaurant was renovated, now with delicious shakes, apple spritzer and large, hot burgers .The room in which I experienced intimate moments for the first time was converted into a Deluxe Suite under the roof - in the new Hotel Lucky’s Inn. The memories of this beauty, of that special connection, still seem to live in the light of the night, like an eternal melody.
The video that was incessantly flickering in the head showed me: life is an eternal change, an incessant search for meaning and happiness. And sometimes, quite unexpected, you can find exactly what you searched - a feeling that is as fleeting as the memories, as deep as the soul itself ..
