PSB Inspired Band Name

#1 Post by PopKid78 »

So just for a bit of fun, I’ve got an imaginary band name question.

You’ve just started a band, and you want to give a nod to PSB in the name, what are you calling your band? Nothing too obvious, something maybe only the fans will pick up on.

Probably something from their lyrics or a song title. Still kinda obvious, but if you know, you know!

Zazou
Roaming suburban boys
Nancy's monkey
Young offender
Generic jingle
It must be obvious
King of Rome
Odd man out
Shot in the fatal cause 'of frock-and-droll'

Those are fun. Devices would be pretty cool for a synthpop band, if it doesn't already exist.

I should look for a list somewhere of bands whose names come from other bands. Radiohead, Ladytron, Death Cab For Cutie, The Kooks are the first that come to mind.

Kitchen Sink
The Satellite Fantasies
The Constructs
DJ Sunblest

I often wonder what the public perception would be of them if they went with "Dust" or "West End"

I seem to recall on an old Amiga game (Rockestar Ate My Hamster) one of the spoof band names was Rent Shop Boys. :D

With their Hit album Crime, featuring the Singles, He’s a Traffic Warden, Ulp!, He’s a Liar, She’s a Creep.
I had that game. I loved it, at the time.

Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning. :|
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

Me too (on the Spectrum). It was great fun getting stuff in the charts. I might be misremembering but couldn't you make up the names of songs?

Yes, the game suggested some, but you could also make your own titles

What, nobody's going for The Pop Kids? The Bright Young Things? Maybe a duo called Gin and Jag?

Just discovered there is a PSB tribute band just started in LA and they go by West End Boys. Their ongoing main gig is a Depeche Mode tribute called Devotional - really good.
For your own good, call me tonight.
