New Order Australia 2025
Could this turn into a Unity tour I wonder as they did promise to come to Oz?

Re: New Order Australia 2025
Greetings,
That's the only way I could be persuaded to go. I'm not really one for concerts in general.
I love New Order and I saw them around the release of Get Ready but the current line-up playing the same old songs doesn't interest me much (despite still buying any live albums they happen to put out).
Retro.

Nah, the live albums are never that great experience as they promise. Bernards vocals are not good live.retrofuturist wrote: Tue 29 Oct 2024, 3:01 am Greetings,

Greetings,
I'd rather New Order made a new album - that last one was excellent... but so long ago now!
Retro.
True. I never said the live albums were great (although I've listened to the BBC 1987 one many many times)... but I love New Order and enjoy listening to and collecting anything of theirs that I can get my hands on for a decent price. It's just that after the absolute deluge of live CDs and DVDs we've had available since they reformed, you just know that any live experience is going to be 90% the same old songs, done more or less the same old way. Been there, done that. Whereas Pet Shop Boys seem to go to more effort to continually evolve their shows.telys wrote: Wed 20 Nov 2024, 10:11 amNah, the live albums are never that great experience as they promise. Re: New Order Australia 2025
Went to the Melbourne concert at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Had a great time even though the first 3 songs had static playing through them. At first we thought it was noise from the Moomba fireworks which was going at the same time on the Yarra River. We were able to watch the top of the fireworks over the roof of the stage as the band was playing. But no! Once the sound engineer fixed the issue, the rest of the set went off without a hitch.
Bernards vocals are certainly not the best, but they were adequate. We had a group of british fans behind us who said they had seen the band a few times back in the late 80s early 90s when they still lived in the UK. I had to laugh when one of them turned to me and said when did they let Albanese onto the stage.
I'm glad I got the chance to see them live. I figured if I didn't make the effort now, I would not get another chance.
I do hope we get another album from them. I really enjoyed their 'Music' album, but yes, it was so long ago now.

Greetings,
Lol. Albanese. Dead ringer. Now you've ruined New Order for me.
In all seriousness, yep, it's time for a new album.
