'Megamix' (Sweden only promo megamix 1991)
'Megamix' (Sweden only promo megamix 1991)
Can anyone tell us more about this promo release? It is listed here: http://www.psbcq.it/singoli/megamix/megamix.htm but I would like to know if it's something really rare (impossible to find or extremely expensive) and whether it sounds great? As far as I've heard, sometimes that kind of mixes can be really enjoyable.
The best megamix made of PSB-tracks IOM. Far better than the DMC-Mix, ON-USound mixes and bootlegs. It contains 2 versions (Long version approx. 10 min./short approx. 4 min.) of the same mix.
Tracks included are:
1. West End girls
2. Domino dancing
3. What have I done to deserve this?
4. Being boring
5. So hard
6. Heart
7. DJ Culture
8. Always on my mind
9. Suburbia
10. It's a sin
All sequenced very smoothly together.
I got the 12" vinyl about 10 years ago, for 100 danish kroner or about 9£.

No, 100 ex.Technotrancemix wrote:I've been told only 5 of the CD's exist
I was in contact with SWE EMI 1-2 years ago and asked.
They answered me 100 CDs and 250 12"
I also thougth 5 but when I knew I have "seen" more than 5 i needed to e-mail them.
2 was sold in a swedish auction site last year. both from radio stations (The seller had bought them from radio stations cds, so I believe there is more lying in swedish radio stations)
Re: 'Megamix' (Sweden only promo megamix 1991)
I was in Helsinki for work this week and found a nice little record store which had no less than three vinyl copies of the 1991 Megamix, including one with the red promo inlay. The store was not very organized so you had to really dig and ask the store owner, it also had a lot of promo CD singles including some of the Pet Shop Boys. I bargained a bit on one of the megamix 12"es (without the promo inlay, that one was too expensive) and also bought a NYC Boy promo CDS.

For those interested (still 2 copies left), it is A. H. Records in Helsinki.
