Can anyone help me identify a track with a very similar hook to ‘Closer to Heaven’?

It dates from 1984 or before and was on a tape made by a New York pal of the manager whose London bar I worked in with what was being played in NY clubs at the time.

I’ve tried to find it on and off for forty years and was reminded of it when listened to Nightlife (for the first time…) recently.

Hope I’m asking this in the right thread…
