Apparent DDoS Attack on the Forum

#1 Post by Drico One »

Hi All,

A quick update on why the forum has been inaccessible over the past 24 hours. Apparently, we have experienced a DDoS attack. A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is a malicious attempt to disrupt the normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of Internet traffic.

This forum and the German forum have been impacted. The Gardner will have more informed info (I am simply recounting what he told me yesterday). Apologies for the inconvenience.

The attack is currently continuing at a manageable rate for the ISP. However, this means that we may experience further outages over the weekend.

Drico.

Again .....

this time a AI crawler from China, who was crawling massive the Italo-Disco-Forum.de forum with the result, that HostEurope did shutdown all of my websites again to save other neighbor webpacks, until all affected Chinese IP-Ranges were banned.

This now means, that probably some Chinese PSB fans won't be able visit the forum anymore... Sorry for the inconvenience!
