I just read in the new annually some funny facts about schlager: that they showed James Ford some youTube schlager videos. And Chris who translated the lyrics in german und "sung" it. I would like to hear that. As a german I'm happy that Neil sing this song in englisch.

Thank you again! Finally, an article that dares to make a Blue Man Group joke about that promo photo!

Dr. Pop and Mr. Hide - very droll. It sounds better than Dr. Bitz anyway.

Interesting to read about The Secret Of Happiness being a Neil composition when everything is credited to Tennant/Lowe. I admire the fact that they don’t keep score and just split the credit down the middle. I suppose it evens out across their whole catalogue.

I have a feeling that may have changed. For example, I have the sheet music to ‘Please’ somewhere and I’m pretty sure that ‘Later Tonight’ is credited to Neil only.
Love Pet Shop Boys? You'd probably enjoy TIERGARTEN: https://linktr.ee/tiergartenmusic

Chris mentions then in Annually 2024 too. He's a big fan.

I now need to see them as Mr Pop and Mr Hide in the style of Roger Hargreaves.

True, it's on my 1986 french pressing of Please LP as well. Two original PSB compositions not credited to Chris on that album (2/0 as well). What a bummer

The 3rd is the original version of OMC. Only credited to Orlando/Tennant.

Bravo!

I can imagine an episode narrated by Arthur Lowe.

"What do you think about these lyrics inspired by Nureyev's defection to the West?" asked Mr Erudite. But it was too late. Mr Taciturn was already fast asleep on the sofa. "Typical" said Mr Erudite, "You're as bad as my friend Mr Snooze".

Would 100% watch. I can see Mark Farrow as Mr Arty Farty, all geometric and colourful.
