this new single reminds me very much Purple Zone

I think someone referenced this earlier but the track continually gets better and better as it progresses! The beginning is fine but it’s all-out incredible by the end! 😎

To me, there are some moments in Loneliness that remind me of Together.
Don't give me all your northern pain
Don't sell me New York in the rain
Let's leave our promises behind
Rewind and try again

Yes, and Love Life a few others. It all draws from past songs in a way. I like the production.

Is it me or there's a saturated part in the second half of the video.

Loneliness fez os #Petheads dançar na batida #PSB novamente. Particularmente estou ouvindo o new single durante todo o dia. E as imagens são 🔥!

"...Can’t you guess?" This bridge makes the song for me. It's catchy and urgent.

"Wherever you go you take yourself with you" Love these little moments, as if Neil is leaning over and whispering truths in your ear. Similar to "You might need an extra rhyme"

Also thought of Purple Zone, ChrisLove. Same outlook.

And I'm not sure if it's coincidence or inspiration, but the mixture of brass-lead-disco and fairground attractions reminds me of Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme.

I'm not sure if this track is an upper or a downer :eh:. Agree it's probably not the key track on the album, but it is the album opener, so we now know the mood.

I agree. In contrast to that which proceeds it, which seems a quite ploddy in comparison.

The way the "Who are you going to turn to...?" chorus just seems to arrive, and is just there, with no build-up or anticipatory excitement seems like an opportunity missed.

I think that's what drags it down for me - there's so many "parts" to this, and they range from exciting to ploddy... and the transitions between each are too jarring, making the song seem "stitched together" rather than cohesive. This is doubly strange given the availability of an orchestra, which could have been put to much better use in this capacity.

The only transitions I genuinely like are from the chorus to bridge, and from the bridge to the instrumental sections. Alas, once it gets flowing, the flow is totally interrupted.

Retro. :)

Complete opposite of me. The radio mix is instantly forgettable, but the album mix is definitely an improvement.

Through You and Blitz are great b-sides though.

Through You sounds great, but Loneliness seems a bit generic and fighting below their weight honestly. This is probably the least excited I’ve ever been for a PSB album due to James Ford and the dross he’s put out with other bands.

Will still pre-order because I love the boys to death. Neil is 70 so I guess it’s unrealistic for another Very/Relentless!
