Empty VF Yes Box ideas

#1 Post by Gabby »

Hi, first time posting on this part of the forum - this is a long explanatory post but am essentially looking for ideas...

I have an extra (without lid) YES Vinyl Factory frosted box with the gold check (tick) on it. It was damaged in transit when I ordered the Yes VF set, so they sent me a new box to transfer over the vinyl into, which I did. This extra box has been kicking around for years now, so yesterday I finally glued back together the cracked part so the box is now to all intents and purposes intact.

It'd make a nice display case, but I would like ideas of WHAT to put inside it that I have that is PSB related. My initial thought was to put in 12" copies of singles released around the time of Yes - problem being if you look, there actually aren't that many 12" singles released at that time. :(

I have an extensive PSB collection of 12" singles, but thematically it seems wrong to add something that doesn't fit with the box it's being displayed/stored in.

Anything else anyone can think of that might be a neat "fit" for this project that will finally allow me to display it properly?

Hmm, procuring those could be a challenge. AFAIK I only have the Did you see me coming?? 12" and one copy of the OG vinyl of Yes.

I haven't had the ability to buy promo stuff in ages (the guy I used to get them from stopped selling PSB records) and I haven't bought a bootleg of any PSB items probably since the 90s! 😐

Any other ideas?

Electric and Super had quite a few 12'' maxis. I'd put all my rare maxis in the box, independent of era.

Hmm, interesting concept - put the Electric 12" in the Yes VF box...

I'm still undecided on this though. I feel like I don't quite have the appropriate thing for it (yet)....still think the box would make a nice piece of wall art tbh.

G'day Gabby,

Trap a Neil and Chris Pop Vinyl in it!

Retro. :)

I did consider that - mine are currently unboxed and the boxes don't fit...I have no idea if the figures alone would fit, but I think if well lit too, could look kinda cool as some sort of art installation!
