Probably Queen, Erasure, New Order and The Smiths. Having said that, I would say I have no interest (or at least haven't bothered to listen to) any of the recent albums of New Order or Erasure so they are only just hanging onto a place in the top 5.

One of them would probably have to be substituted with the Beatles. Actually, now I've thought about it a bit more both are out. Not sure if solo artists are allowed but Erasure and New Order both lose their places to The Beatles and David Bowie. They retain a place in the top 10 though.

Yes ive come to them quite recently as outside of new order I couldn't stand guitars in the 90s...last Suede album is fantastic

It is surprising there isn't a little more PSB/Stereolab overlap. They show up in my top 5, though (post #117).

I've always fancied the idea of Stereolab covering "Ego music".
