Record Store Day needs to be changed, Release LP/CDs/whatever but ONLY to independent stores. Not Amazon, not HMV. Only the indie stores. Unlimited amounts, but you can only get them from your local indie store. That way, the stores stay in business and buyers don't get scalped.

In theory this would be great. Trouble is indie stores do not want to stock everything in unlimited amounts and record comapnies do not want to press unlimited amounts. So if a release is not limited, it will be in the store forever as the demand also decreases, and sellers have to put items in the sales bin which means they lose money with current vinyl cost prices. A "hurry as this is a very limited edition" marketing strategy actually works.

There is still tonnes of rsd-albums unsold, heaps of it, even today. RSD is a joke.

I couldn't agree more. Well said.
The last one we did (years ago) was rather upsetting to be honest. It has spoiled it all. We don't go to them anymore.

Regarding this release. I spoke to my local indie record shop, and according to them, Black Friday RSD releases are a bit different, they said there are never queues, and stuff is available from opening time, they can't reserve them as per RSD but doesn't sound too much of a hassle , so will go there at opening time on the Friday to get a copy .

Totally agree though with this comments about RSD, the amount of ****** who clearly go to the shops, buy all the good stuff and put it straight on Ebay so real fans miss out. It needs changing as the whole point is to go into a record shop , not buy it online.

I remember one year I was after a couple of titles, and somebody had clearly been to their local record shop bought them all up and stuck them straight on Ebay as the pictures were taken in the back of their car!
