Rip Your Majesty.
Whether you believe in the monarchy or not, a sad day for the Commonwealth.😔

Dreaming of the Queen, visiting for tea …
A blues would be in B flat, pain defining wisdom,
but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

That song has been mentioned in this article about the Queen in pop music:
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/ ... tone-roses
It's an article from a few months ago, but reposted on social media for obvious reasons.

"avowed republicans"

I'm sure they are, but also pretty sure they love the pageantry.

Living in a colonial country, where republic talk goes on forever, it's weird to hear the term used by British.

If you don't believe in the monarchy, you won't see this as a sad day. Just another person dying to me.

I rule. You don't.

They haven't mentioned anyting on the official website. No Pet text about the death.
The queen died slightly younger than my grandmothers. They had been a constant in the family for 8 decades. A much more severe loss than an old lady you only see on tv.

As mentioned above, they posted what I assume was a specially and quickly produced video to their social channels the day after the Queen’s death. It’s classy and stands without comment, letting fans extract new layers of meaning from one of their most beautiful songs. I thought it was particularly touching given they are essentially anti-royalist - they were able to pay a subtle tribute without approaching hypocrisy.
Woof.

Very well put, and couldn't agree more.
