Re: Go West - US Promo (bootleg) mixes
Those copies were pressed, but never released even for radios nor aproved by the Boys and that's why unauthorized.
Despite the fact the remixes were done with the original vocals by Mark Picchiotti and Terry Bristol, it's a bootleg since it was non-oficial (geowayne page stands that the remixes are official, but unreleased).
Anyway, it's just a matter how you see it and at that time, that was the way.

information on these releases. I'm surprised it was not that expensive
like some of the other promos.
it's still weird that they were pressed with the words 'unauthorized' on them anyways,
like they knew they weren't going to get approval, but went ahead anyways.
i thought it would be hard to find. but there seem to be a lot of copies out there.

Re: Go West - US Promo (bootleg) mixes
It's not a bootleg, it's an official pressing but the remixes were never commercially released. Just because the release has the word "bootleg" on it does not make it so. For reference, the group Duran Duran went under the alias of the Krush Brothers in 1988-1989. During that period, a U.S. promotional CD single for "The Edge of America / Lakeshore Driving" was released. These two songs are off of the Duran Duran album "Big Thing", but instead of releasing the CD single under the group name of Duran Duran, it was released under their alias the Krush Brothers. The CD single comes in a white cardboard case with the words "Official Bootleg - The LSD Edit - "The Edge of America / Lake Shore Driving" - The Krush Brothers". See Discogs entry here: https://www.discogs.com/release/2943914 ... e-LSD-EditDJAMIX wrote: ↑Sun 10 Apr 2022, 6:02 am Those copies were pressed, but never released even for radios nor aproved by the Boys and that's why unauthorized.
