Neil had celebrated Chris’s birthday the night before along with family members. It was pointed out to Chris how much he had smiled during the Hyde Park concert. Chris just shrugged it off. Neil pointed out that they both actually find the audience reaction very moving. Apparently Chris had specifically asked that he wasn’t to be filmed, but this was ignored.
Birthday party sounds very touching and personal. I feel sorry for Chris and his aversion to cameras- unfortunately he's in the wrong industry for privacy though to be fair to the pair of them they keep their private lives out of the media and let their music speak for them. The direct opposite of acts like Sam Smith, Will Young, Taylor Swift or Cheryl Cole, where their personal lives are used to shift units.

I guess though this does suggest why they aren’t touring this album but are jumping straight to a Greatest Hits tour.
A down tempo album would be tuff to sell to a concert crowd.

Woah! Hold on! Put down the absorbent sheeting as I could possibly wet myself.
Another Electronic album!!!!!!!??????
That would be ace, especially if it was like the first one.
I still listen to all 3 from time to time but the first is still a masterpiece.
Yeah, no kidding. This is potentially bigger news than anything to do with the forthcoming album. With the original dreamteam of Sumner,Marr,Tennant,Lowe it would be awesome.

If the possibility of another Electronic album is "bigger news than anything to do with the forthcoming album", Neil and Chris should shut the pet shop once and for all.

Honestly, they get taken for granted these days.

I think this has been reported elsewhere in recent months as well. Johnny wants to do it but Bernard’s too busy with New Order.
Woof.

How can you say this? Electronic was the musical mothership that launched the three greatest groups of all time.. If it wasn't for them there'd be no Pet Shop Boys, no Smiths and no New Order.

Bring it on!

I agree with Drico. Electronic was a side project. A whole new Pets album is much, much more exciting.

I wouldn’t mind a single, but a whole album would just delay new Pets stuff in my eyes. Especially if they toured with it.

Daveid I assume you’re joking.

Electronic was a terrific album.

There's nothing wrong in seeing what happens when creative people get together. You get something extra, and nothing is lost.

I’m not surprised with people’s reactions. Some say Brick England is better than the whole of Super.

The new album is in the can and tour announced, so I hardly think any Electronic activity would delay it further. Hence why any potential rebanding of the Tennant/Lowe styled Electronic, in this persons opinion, is bigger news.

New Order need to get back in the studio too though. Their live stuff is OK, but Peter Hook and the Light arguably has a better vibe live. New Order, in their Hook-less iteration, are a better studio band but Hooky really seems to "get" what New Order should be like as a live act.

However, I'd trade all that AND another PSB live set, if I could see Sumner, Marr, Tennant and Lowe on stage together as Electronic. I'm still hugely envious of anyone who saw them supporting Depeche Mode back in the day - can't even begin to imagine what an amazing concert that must have been.

Slightly off topic but I was hoping that Bernard would have made an appearance at the Royal Albert Hall charity concert a couple of years ago to perform Getting Away With It as Johnny Marr was involved. A missed opportunity...

Not really. I experience time in reverse. I can't wait for Winner to be released in 7 years.

Three well established acts years before Electronic came to be.
