Ausfahrt = EXIT

#1 Post by Markpro »

I'm a little bit concerned that the word "Ausfahrt" shows up multiple times in the video for Dreamland, The word translates as "EXIT" in english...on the same day we get a Greatest Hits tour, am i reading too much into this, are the boys thinking of stopping after the new album.

Maybe it's just because the word is actually above the exit's on the video's, or a nod to Brexit but we know how the boys love their little teases so maybe EXIT is the name of the new album...which would also concern me as it would indicate leaving.
I've been a Teenager since before you were born.

AUSGANG is the word I usually think of. Ausfahrt sort of means outward journey. Both correct of course

Neil is 65. Pet Shop Boys, Departure hasn’t been announced just yet. The last 20 years have been a massive bonus. I’d just enjoy the ride. Nothing lasts forever. Take Billie Trix’s advice.

The video also has the words ‘Years & years’ in it. What if they’re planning to go on for years and years?!

65 is not old nowadays. When they stop touring they will keep on making music for quite some time.

As long as Sparks keep at it in their 70s, I’m not worried about PSB.

Look at the amount of music. these guys love creating. they will be putting out albums till they die. and I think touring keeps them young and they enjoy the feeling of love they get so I suspect they wont ever retire and would be really surprised if they ever do.

That word jumped out at me too, but not because I interpreted it in terms of PSB quitting, but simply because it's the wrong word to use in a U-Bahn station. Ausfahrt and Ausgang both mean Exit, but Ausfahrt comes from fahren (=to drive), and is what you'd use to get off a highway, whereas Ausgang comes from gehen (=to walk) and would be what those signs would be labelled in a german subway station. I wonder if that's intentional or just badly translated (since they both mean exit).

I agree with Drico.

Live the moment.

Lots of negativity surrounding this new phase of their career, especially on Facebook.

Course we always want more....& whilst we're getting it lets all enjoy.

It's not a bonus. Their career is still going on.
