Being signed out every day

#1 Post by themgnt »

So, every day, despite clicking Keep Me Signed In, I get logged out and I have to sign back in.

I wonder if this is happening to other people, or is this just something on my end?

I'm using Firefox. I've not yet tried a different browser.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate it. I was thinking if others were having this problem someone would have brought it up by now. Glad I'm not the only one.

I had to clear all my cookies and it's been fine since on Chrome.

Thanks, I'll try that.

For right now I've only removed the one reference to this site.

EDIT: Well, that didn't work. I'll try to clear all cookies later this week.

Same with me I'm on Chrome too no matter how many times I "delete" my cookies. It's getting annoying. It all started when the "admin" updated to the updated to version 3.2.7 of the site on 10 May 2019.

I think after I wiped my cookies it still didnt work for a couple of times. Perhaps try a few times and see if it happens to start working?

It's working for me on Chrome and Edge and definitely should be something on YOUR devices. I found out about it also on my systems in the past. But whenever I cleared the cache(s) it was gone again.

I've been affected by this problem as well on *all* of my computers and devices (Macs, iPads, iPhones) using Safari and I too have noticed this problem appeared after the upgrade. Funnily (and frustratingly) enough, on my Macs I have to login *twice* before the site recognizes me. I tried erasing all cookies, to no avail. Because of these problems, I've been visiting the forum much less frequently. A real pity.

Update: moments after I posted this message I tried to do a few more experiments and I noticed that (a long time ago) I had bookmarked the forum address with prefix http://... Having changed that to https://... I'm now observing a much more consistent behavior across all of my devices and my login appears to be remembered. Maybe that was (part of) the problem?

^^^ I think that's it! My bookmark was for http as well.

I just closed the browser, clicked my bookmark and was prompted to sign in. I opened a new tab and pasted the https address and I went straight in.

Good catch! Thanks!

There's also a difference between https://www.petshopboys-forum.com and https://petshopboys-forum.com
You need to have "www" in the URL.
