Yes I'm more than fine with. Elysium's Further Listening disc is really bare, just as I feared. I was hoping if any were a thing, demos from The Most Incredible Thing, and The Man From The Future would be but it's not to be.

Maybe they are keeping those tracks to work on further in the future. Or they're poor quality demos.

As Neil said in the recent Further Listening interview, it has to be of "Master Quality"... even Chris said so.

The CD format will include an extensive booklet, designed by Farrow, which features exclusive interviews, archive photographs and sleeve notes.
At last they're pointing out the booklets, which somehow aren't mentioned on the stickers for Nightlife/Release/Fundamental.

Yes (no pun), the "Yes" bonus content is quite disappointing. However I'm very happy with the "Elysium" one, I've always wanted to hear "In slow motion", such an intriguing title. And from what we know "She pops" is un-Elysium as can be...

True I suppose but they way they speak about some of the tracks I would imagine some are close to Master quality and if they spent a little time on them. Anyway over the 5 releases, the tracks I am most surprised at being ommitted are :-

NIGHTLIFE

-I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Any More. (Action Man Mix) (Neil had previously said it would probably be on Nightlife FL)
- Unbelievable Scenes (seeing as it was turned into Fugitive and parts from original version used in Footsteps)
- Love Letters
- Midlife Crisis (A C2H Demo)
- Nu Sleaze (Evolved into Burn)

RELEASE

- Diddly Squat/All Or Nothing
- Only Love
- E-Mail (Demo)
- For Every Moment

FUNDAMENTAL

- The Day Before Tomorrow
- I'm With Stupid (Demo)
- Indefinite Leave To Remain (Demo)
- Dirty Tricks
- China

YES

- Even (A demo idea for the ballet)
- Friendship (evolved into Did you see me coming?? Possibly More Mix)
- I'm Not Crying I'm Laughing (AOTW Demo)
- The Next Big Thing (Neil describes it as "actually quite good,")
- Where The Wild Things Are (MTAD Demo)
- King Of Pop (KOR Demo)
- Moronic
- Pedal (Almost used in the ballet)
- Random
- You're the Exception That Proves the Rule (Demo for Kylie and music used in the Ballet)

ELYSIUM

- Heads Will Roll (Neil was keen to include it on the album)
- No More Ballads (written during this era)

The Youtube promo includes only "The loving kind" (I assume Parlo doesn't want to promote an X2 track) and it sounds a bit stiff. Chris didn't like it, did he?

Like I said, Elysium Further Listening is mostly Electric.

I think they don't like very much to document the "work in progress" of a song if the demo's not advanced enough or if they used it for other tracks. It's quite a selective criterium but I can see the sense in it. Having said that, the biggest omission is probably "I'm not crying I'm laughing", which might be a complete demo. I though they were going to include it, especially since they put "No excuse" on Release FL...

The "Elysium" cover revisited reminds somehow of the concept for Bowie's "The next day" artwork, even though "Elysium" came out first... And the empty white square doesn't look centered.

I don't know why so many people expect so many unheard tracks to appear on these - the original six FL issues only had demos of songs we'd heard in another format before.

I think we're being spoiled rotten! I think they like to make it a high-quality listening experience, they've said they like the Further Listening discs to work as albums in themselves, so if tracks have been omitted it'll be because they don't think they're good enough, or maybe they want to use them in the future. I don't think it's a case of them not thinking to include things.

I'm intrigued to hear the 'Vocal' demo - has anyone pre-ordered and heard it?
Heaven is possible,

I think PSB are holding back the 'Yes' era demos for future PSB albums, I don't believe Neil when he said they are not of 'master quality'.
