Hoarder or serious collector?
Re: Hoarder or serious collector?
I collect mainly CDs but have accumulated some vinyl, cassettes, fan club stuff and videos, books over the years. Bought a few fakes unwittingly on eBay which put me off for a while once I realised I had paid stupid money for worthless copies but am more careful now. I also collect CDs that contain cover versions of PSB songs but only if they are really cheap! I have been collecting PSB CDs for nearly 27 years now and collect stuff from any country of issue.
Re: Hoarder or serious collector?
This is my PSB CD/DVD Collection. I've also got a few vinyl records.
Re: Hoarder or serious collector?
My collection also have all 80' singles on vinyl. Plus DVDs and books.

I used to be a serious collector, but as I time goes on I find my interest waning a little. Mainly due to the eBay rip offs, gone are the days you would walk into a specialist record shop and discover a gem for £10. Now it just goes straight on eBay and £50-60 later you have a one track promo.
I'm lucky in that I started collecting in the 'please' era. Getting early promos for next to nothing.
Nowadays I tend to collect on mixes rather than every physical format.
Still love the boys, always will and will happily support their pensions due to the amount of enjoyment they have given me over the decades. I just wish they would now take control and earn as much money as they can by releasing stuff through their own online store. At least we know then they get the money and not some rip-off ebayer.

Greetings,
Retro.
That's my main objective too... but I'm not going to pay exorbitant prices for some scrappy promo CDR either.coufy wrote:Trying to get all track versions on physical release,

I recently docummented my whole collection in a photo album, in case anybody's curious:

I try to collect as much as I can without paying more than the price for a regular record, so "real collector items" are out of the question for me. Also, I only go for variant editions of about the same thing if I come across them at bargain prices (so: almost never ).
