Re: Well, the Alan Turing project just got more interesting.
why he did not simply started to take male hormons then??sure the fat around his nipples would dissapier soon/I was hearing Neil in some interview that Alan T. was given female hormons,so he started to have female breasts, but I didn t hear anything about he cutted off his genital,so he could be easily ok again(in article up here I was reading about chemical castration -I quess it ment only hormons.
It is sad that his clever mind told him to kill himself at the end..

What exactly do you think "chemical castration" means, if not hormone injections? When did it ever mean anything else?
Are you saying injecting testosterone would have reversed all the negative effects of the oestrogen? Do you have a source for that claim? Even if true, was testosterone easily obtainable by individuals in Britain in the 1950s (when, please correct me if I'm wrong, it could not be manufactured but only harvested from dead bodies)?
Do you think intelligent people are immune from depression?

well in article they did mention "chemical castration" -so yes it should mean hormonal injections or hormonal pills,I don t know how and from what they do create it now or back in 50-ies..animals??perhaps??,but what is obvious is that then one stops to take it -then the level goes down logically..so if he could be able to buy ,lets say on some black market, sure there was some even in 50-ies,he could start to take male hormons,so his body in 1 year time or so,cold be on same male hormonal level,as before /of course the thing what he had obviously suffered, was that he was forced to take female hormons, and his body and mind was in mess, but I dont know his story muchola t wrote:What exactly do you think "chemical castration" means, if not hormone injections? Sure even exreemly clever people can suffer from depression/I was reading about people who seems to have "everyhing" -great jobs, lovely familly, everything they always wanted, that they do suffer from depression too.I quess its like when they do achive everything, then there is this ..EMPTY feeling for them, because nos WTF NEXT../it depends on chemicals in your brain,so i seems that it does not make sence,as well something from very past can start it,you even do not know about it
I just thought it was sad, that he killed himself, while there were lots of things he still could do with his life ..I bloody could be on net much sooner /joke
.and if I take it from "religion point of view"...then he seems to be lost forever??/when suicide is the biggest sin...It is so cruel to think that if he is not having piece even in death then...
I sometimes thing "religion" is so crul...so then I believe there is something in between earth and heaven, but I imagine it as some fantastic strong lovely energy, some universal love, and not some rules -you should,or should not do..../it s like everytime I see Neil, I feel like that huge lovely energy..
oh however it is..logically Alan Turing is not suffering anymore

If you have an iPhone, ask Siri "Who's your daddy?" twice.
Just tax the stupid people!

Siri replied with 'I can't tell you that, but I suppose Alan Turing is the godfather of all intelligent agents like me'.

And that's where wisdom is differentiated from intelligence.Ghost within this house wrote:Intelligent people are immune from happiness.Butters wrote:I think intelligent people are more prone to depression.ola t wrote: Do you think intelligent people are immune from depression?

Perhaps we can expect some further link between them
