Pick only one
Pick only one
Sometimes PSB are dramatic, bitter and a bit sad but sometimes PSB is just the opposite and PSB are a bit shameles, fun and funny.

They're at their absolute best when they are both.
So Hard comes to mind as a case in point.
If I only get to pick one, I'm going to pick one that's not on your list - "The wry version"

"Politics are too emotional now. Contemporary culture generally is too emotional, really... I'd rather people looked to the truth." (Neil Tennant)
Re: Pick only one
Although I agree absolutely with "wry", if pushed I would vote dramatic over funny. The humourous tracks can be great (Shamless?), but when heart felt, pathos ridden lyrics are combined with their signature sound they are unbeatable. As Chris once observed "we often do sad lyrics with up tempo chords". Perfect.
Re: Pick only one
if Absolutely Fabulous = 'funny', I'll choose any other option.
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional
Re: Pick only one
I like both of course, but having to choose one I picked dramatic.
Don’t be scared, for only the dark can show you the stars

Of course but it'd be very easy. That's why I want you to choose one.retrofuturist wrote:They're at their absolute best when they are both.

My answer is "The Political and Historical version"
If you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to fear
If you've something to hide, you shouldn't even be here
