Rating: "The last to die"
Re: Rating: "The last to die"
This is my second favourite track on the album. I rated it 9/10. 9 does not mean I hate it. I love it. It's just not a 10/10 like Love is a bourgeois construct is for me. For me this song Last To Die is defo single potential. I love it.

Re: Rating: "The last to die"
Amazing. The only properly structured pop song on the album, which is probably why I like it so much. I'm a huge proponent of having a regularized structure in songs, like "verse 1 - verse 2 - chorus - verse 3 - chorus - bridge - chorus", it just makes the song sound more melodic and catchy. The lyrics, albeit not written by Neil, are amazing and at times sound like something that Neil could've written himself (see my signature!). And the bridge "The sun it sets in flames as the city burns / another day gone down as the evening turns / and I hold here in my heart / as things fall apart" is just freakin epic.
9/10

Has to be a double plug (oh sorry, double a side ) with Love is a bourgeois construct.
Loving it at 2'30..." and I'm holding you here in my heart..."

7. Decent enough and improves the original as only the petties can, but a bit formulaic for me compared to the rest of the album
I get out of bed at half past ten...i wish
Re: Rating: "The last to die"
9/10 for this. It's a really great cover, the Boys "own" it!!

Agree with all that. As whitney might have said 'its not right, but it's okay'...oneinamillion wrote:7. Decent enough and improves the original as only the petties can, but a bit formulaic for me compared to the rest of the album

This is at most a weak B-side in my opinion. Not very dance-friendly. And the boys write so much better songs themselves, so I question the need to do a cover.
Sorry, they could have skipped this one altogether.

9/10
I am genuinely surprised at how much I like this one. Wasn't sure after hearing the live version.

And everything about tonight feels right and so young
