It's a classic. Sometimes, 10's are too easily banded about. West End Girls, Always on my Mind, It's a Sin, Domino Dancing, Being Boring, Love etc and This Must Be the Place are all worthy of a 10. Probably a few more I haven't mentioned and indeed, Love is a Bourgeois Construct also falls into that company.

10/10. One of the greatest intro's of all time.

Only PSB can make a song like this. And that’s why I love them so much!

I can't believe at near 30 years, they are able to put out a track like this. Absolutely remarkable. A proper 10.

From the moment I read what they had sampled for this track, it was a 10/10 all day long.

When I heard the live, albeit rough, version, again 10/10

This track is classic PSB, its up there with West End girls, Its A Sin, Left To My Own Devices.

If its issued as a single, please don't edit it. Its perfection.

I'm too keen on the vocal production (a common "issue" I have with "Electric"). The song itself could easily be a 10. The intro is heavenly. Excellent lyrics as well.

All in all and due to this minor issue I have with the production/vocals, it is not perfect for me - same goes for "Thursday" unfortunately.

Therefore a very good 8 from me as of now.

A radio edit would be sacrilege

Easily a 10/10, they may actually have made something that beats Always on My Mind in my house.

I think they'll have to drop a verse if they edit it, which would be, yes, a sacrilege.
I'm giving it a 9 because it's an understated classic and a grower, which is maybe better than being a 10 and an instant-classic which will then fade as time passes by. The intro is pure epicness, makes me feel like a child (although I'm only 19 now, but it reminds me of more careless times).

That’s the thing about negative energy, about hatred. It can be positive. It throws into relief all the things you know you like. It tells you, by elimination, what you’re about. Sometimes you can only define yourself by what you hate. Hatred becomes an inspiration; it makes you think, “What I’m doing now I totally believe in, and I don’t care what other people say.” Guided by hatred, you don’t have to follow the herd. - Neil Tennant

How can we vote on it before we've heard it. Please can these polls wait one week, so we can all participate. On anticipation I score it a 12

It’s possible to listen to it on the “Being Pet Shop Boys” page on facebook.
I hope it’s not against the rules of this forum to give information about this.

Electric is going to be released on Friday and you've already started a poll. Excellent. I tell you what: As probably most people on this board I've already heard the track but I won't rate it now. It needs more reflective listening to come to a conclusion, i. e., I need more time. Of course you, nickname, only need a crappy 30 sec. sample to come up with an opinion.

The definitive Pet Shop Boys song: dancey, funny, waspish, sad, but ultimately strangely defiant.

Wonderful song...no idea how they can make a single edit out of this though.
