Re: Rate "AXIS"
I give it an eight, as yes, it is banging and that's what most PSB fans seem to want all the time, and as it almost DOESN'T feature Neil's voice I think this might sadly enough be a "good thing" in terms of possible airplay. However, it IS at the same time not very sing-along friendly, and to me it does seem a bit underproduced for a single, the Boys usually has more things "happening" in a song in terms of sounds. At the same time, the breakdown part is fantastic. So. Very good but not excellent.

I give it an 8, too. It's pretty cool and certainly something "different", even unexpected. However Neil's voice is the very reason why I listen to PSB, so him not being featured in it at all is a major letdown for me. Judging from the snippet, I already expected Axis to be an unconventional song that doesn't follow the usual verse - chorus pattern, but I would've loved a slow part in the middle (40 seconds or so) where Neil gets to sing a couple of lines. That would've made it perfect for me.

Re: Rate "AXIS"
No, I don't think so at all. In Axis, the music is so direct and in the center of attention, I don't really think just putting vocals over this sort of track would work...

AXIS is certainly BANGING & ELECTRIC brilliant just brilliant !
Re: Rate "AXIS"
A 9 for me, For me it doesn't have to have Neil singing in it much as it just sounds like PSB and that's good enough for me

Re: Rate "AXIS"
That was exactly my first impression as well. Sounds a little empty in the first half but picks up in the latter half. I liked Axis from the Tajin recording a whole lot more, most likely because there is simply a lot more going on. Crowd cheering along, the equipment delivering a thunderously powerful beat, Neil's speaky bits ("Turn it on") also sound much louder and deeper.Decisional wrote:and to me it does seem a bit underproduced for a single, the Boys usually has more things "happening" in a song in terms of sounds. Don't really class it as a "song", but great for what it is.

Not sure, 6-7 probably. Video is a 9 though, if it wasn't for the dancers it'd have been a 10.

Re: Rate "AXIS"
Maybe its a bit too dancy, and I can't sing along to it. I would like it as much as a normal album track so its a 7.
