Shame on most of you  VERY RELENTLESS is a brilliant pop/dance album and we should be so lucky if we get another package like this.

I think it is easy to bash "Very" nowadays...the sound of "Very" was and is still uncomparable.

It was the only PSB album which got the Number 1 in UK.

I really believe "Very" was a fresh air in the pop world at that time. The visual concept was really interesting and it worked pretty well. ¡Happy days!.

Many people think "Very" is the best PSB album with "Actually" and "Introspective". But those who think "Behaviour" is the best PSB album don't think the same.

Very production is quite sparse. Has a nice retro feel to it though.

But it's odd that the album that came after such a long hiatus felt a little music-by-numbers in places. (which I still love)

I'd be happy for Electric to be in a similar vein, but judging by the promo it is already more modern and clubby.

Electric = Very, 20 years later?

Yes was the new Very. And very good it was too.

I am guessing Electric will be more like Disco 3 sans the remixes. Or a contemporary Relentless.

It is, but the full story is more illuminating: Actually was kept off no. 1 by Michael Jackson's Bad and Introspective by U2's Rattle and Hum. Behaviour and Alternative were also no. 2 albums but less iconic albums by Paul Simon and Black Grape stood in the way.

As an aside... has a b-side compilation ever topped the album chart in the UK?

Retro. :)

I thought that The Masterplan would have but apparently it only got to number two.

You're wasting your time. For some people, it's ALL about sales because sales determine the intrinsic value of a record. I'll refine that. For some people, it's ALL about statistical anomalies because a number 1 record determines the intrinsic superiority of that record even if it sells fewer copies than a record that is kept off of number one by a triumph of marketing and the impeccable bad taste of the general public.

Very was NOT a dance album. It was Relentless that was more dance orientated. I personally DONT want another Very.....

Relentless + the Rollo tracks on Nightlife.

Something like that. Please.
More instrumental sections than Very.
Longer tracks as well please, rather than the short sweet punches of computer game pop that was Very.

But ultimately, something “very PSB” with nothing subtle and grown up. They've done that. We want banging electric stomps now please…

more than a new VERY, it is a new INTROSPECTIVE in the sense of "edgy" for them.
Neil Tennant has a great voice, Chris Lowe has great silence.
