Poll ends soon on your favorite "character" in a PSB song

#1 Post by geowayne » Fri 17 Mar 2017, 4:39 am

Hey there! Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last full day of my current poll, which asks you to choose your favorite "character" (other than himself) portrayed by Neil in the lyrics of one of the Pet Shop Boys' songs. If you haven't voted yet, please take a moment to visit my "Commentary" site at http://www.geowayne.com/psbhtml.htm and make your choice from the options provided right there on my home page.

On Sunday I will end this poll, post the final results, and launch a new survey for the week ahead. And, as a heads-up, I'm planning for next week's poll to be the first half of a special two-parter that you won't want to miss -- if I may be so presumptuous as to say so myself. :)

In the meantime, thanks to everyone who has already voted in *this* survey! And I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Zazou. Even though it's a group, rather than an individual character per se.

It's interesting how many of the characters listed are objects of ridicule in PSB's songs.

I'd like to hear The Truck Driver's mate's side of the story. I bet he's being held hostage or something.

Even though it probably isn't so, the guy in Opportunities, Single and Gin & Jag could be the same person. He aims to make lot's of money in the 80's, and by mid 90's he's actually succeeded. In Gin & Jag he looks back at his 90's days, telling "you should've seen me then".

The point of view of the character in Kings Cross I've always found fascinating.
Just for the sake of it, make sure you're always frowning. :|
It shows the world that you've got substance and depth.

What a great question. The Ressurectionist. I had to make sure it was listed to make sure it was a valid choice. I've always been interested in criminals from years ago, interesting.

The Delusions of Grandeur guy.
I sincerely *love* Disco 2 and listen to it straight through regularly.
