Browsing through the French music-rights database of Sacem

#1 Post by leesmapman »

Sometimes, when I'm bored, I do a search-query in the Frech music-rights database on sacem.fr. I thought I'd thrown Neil's name in it to see if I find some remarkable things. And I did.

https://repertoire.sacem.fr/resultats?f ... #searchBtn

One of the first hits I get is

Go Away.
credited to:

TENNANT NEIL FRANCIS, Compositeur-Auteur
LOWE CHRIS, Compositeur-Auteur

It can't be Go West, because the writers of that song should have been credited too, and it can't be Sail Away either for the same reasons.

I also found the following titles: Playout Music. Which could be some music used as background or something.

But the more interesting entries are these:

WESTERN WORLD
LOWE CHRISTOPHER SEAN, Compositeur-Auteur
BLOOM MICHAEL, Compositeur-Auteur
Lucas Ian GOODMAN, Compositeur-Auteur
TENNANT NEIL FRANCIS, Compositeur-Auteur
Jillian Kristin HERVEY, Compositeur-Auteur

and

ONLY IN MY MIND
LOWE CHRISTOPHER SEAN, Compositeur-Auteur
LEWKO KENNETH JOSEPH, Compositeur-Auteur
TENNANT NEIL FRANCIS, Compositeur-Auteur
GUTHRIE TREVOR DEAN, Compositeur-Auteur

And then there's A Man On The Television, written by Neil himself of course.

And the track:

A blues would be in B flat, pain defining wisdom,
but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

Whoa I love these

Old school vibes. The kind of thing my old Aunties would probably listen to. Yet strong PSB writing.
