I'd think Neil would be a man of such taste. As someone who owns well north of 100 CDs by Miles I'd definitely concur. Man was a genius.

Funnily enough I bought Porgy and Bess a few weeks ago on CD second hand. Great album.

The original source is not Miles Davis. It is «Canción del fuego fatuo» («Will o' the Wisp») from El Amor Brujo of Manuel de Falla. We are taliking of one of the most famous and important creation of the music history all over the world.
It's Spanish of course.

1. Introducción y escena ('Introduction and scene') 0:00
2. En la cueva ('In the cave') 0:30
3. Canción del amor dolido ('Song of suffering love') 2:38
4. El aparecido (El espectro) ('The apparition') 3:57
5. Danza del terror ('Dance of terror') 4:04
6. El círculo mágico (Romance del pescador) ('The magic circle') 6:00
7. A media noche: los sortilegios (At Midnight) 8:14
8. Danza ritual del fuego ('Ritual fire dance') 8:42
9. Escena ('Scene') 12:28
10. Canción del fuego fatuo ('Song of the will-o'-the-wisp') 13:28
11. Pantomima ('Pantomime') 15:00
12. Danza del juego de amor ('Dance of the game of love') 19:16
13. Final – las campanas del amanecer ('Finale – the bells of sunrise') 21:54

You can listen to it here. If you don't want to listen to the whole thing, at least listen to Danza ritual del fuego ('Ritual fire dance' and Canción del fuego fatuo ('Song of the will-o'-the-wisp').

I was lucky enough to see Miles twice live. I remember at the Festival Hall trying to peer under his shades from my place in the front stalls to see his eyes! The other occasion was at the Wembley Conference Centre, which without looking it up may have been the site of the old ice rink.
What's for supper?
