It wasn't a hit. Everybody knows that. A lovely song, everybody loves but a total flop taking into account PSB were still quite popular on that era.

And you should try to be educated. If you can't, you shouldn't get into this forum.
Well, they played Being Boring on many tours and shows in the past, e.g. Discovery even ended with it, Somewhere at the Savoy, Nightlife Tour, BBC concert(s), Release Tour, Pandemonium, Glastonbury and quite a few others as well.

That's quite a bit for a "flop" that no one ever liked, isn't it? And even besides that, Being Boring is one of the most highly regarded and artistically impactful "hits" in their career. More so than a lot of others that followed. It would be a shame not to have it in a Greatest Hits setlist imo.
We are talking about two different things. a hit vs critical acclaim. There is not doubt about the second thing. About the first one, you only have to take a look at the charts.
No we're not. But a "hit" is not only defined by its first week chart position. If that were the case "Drunk" would be a much bigger "hit" than Being Boring for example, which is ridiculous in pretty much every way but one (first week chart position).

Hit = sales, chart results, etc.

I would be very surprised if they did not play one of their most beloved and acclaimed songs.

Did they announce Top Ten hits only?

No. “Songs that were hits and songs that should have been hits / sound like hits”.

If they said that. They will include Vocal, The Pop Kids and Being Boring will probably be there.

Hi nickname,

I hope it doesn't come as a shock for you but the idea to label the forthcoming tour as a GH show is nothing but a commercial decision. It's marketing and that's that.

The only decision that seems to come with it is to first and foremost play song that have been out as singles. In the end, however, they'll play whatever songs they like and thankfully you're not hired to compile the setlist as it would be bollocks.

Thanks.

Monkey Business and Dreamland will be played too, if we have to believe Neil's last year's interview.

Of course, they will.

They have to introduce a bit the last album.

Oh, really? How dare they? I mean these singles have not charted in the top 400 official UK singles chart, have they? Jesus, I don't follow the charts anyway. lol

Right. So it was a top 20 "hit" that stayed in the UK charts for 8 weeks. Do you know how many PSB singles that came out after Being Boring had a longer chart run? Here's the list:

- Go West (9 weeks)

End of list.

Of course it was a 'hit', you clod. Not a massive hit but it made the top twenty.
And it was a big radio hit.
You can have a lot of exporsure but general public people didn't like the song.
Wasn't there a web site dedicated to Being Boring and that lasted hundreds of pages? Is it still online?

For how many songs are there websites dedicated to them? So it seems general public like it.

I like the term "canon", as something defining or sacred for a topic. And Being Boring is definitely PSB canon. If they don't play it, they'll have Axel Rose complaining.

And the people attending a PSB concert, at this late stage, aren't the "general public" from way back. They know their subject and want to see certain things represented, not necessarily aligned to the unwashed masses back in 1990 or whenever.

So it makes sense for them to focus largely on hits. But to tell the whole story they can drop any track they want :)

It's a pity they aren't touring right now, since the could cast the infamous PSB curse on Japan by playing Winner.
