DREAMWORLD TOUR: set list speculation. Which songs are PSB going to play?

#1 Post by Nickname »

Mixing all the rumours and information. Singles in a reverse chronological order, including singles of Hotspot (except Burning the Heather) and then all the Top 10 in UK's chart (including songs performed by other artists).

Looks like the set-list of Dreamworld Tour could be like this (28 songs). I suppose they would try to make a shorter version of some songs or mixing some of them together. But it would be fine to make a concert with all these songs.

- Will-o-the-Wisp
- I don't wanna
- Monkey Business
- Dreamland
- The Loving Kind
- I'm with stupid
- Drunk
- Somewhere
- A red letter day
- Se a vida e
- Before
- AF
- Go West
- Can you forgive here?
- Where the streets have no name (I can't take my eyes off you)
- So Hard
- Losing my Mind
- It's Alright
- Left to my own devices
- Domino Dancing
- I'm not Scared
- Heart
- Always on my mind
- Rent
- What have I done to deserve this??
- It's a sin
- Suburbia
- West End Girls

DREAMWORLD TOUR: set list speculation. What are PSB going to play?

#2 Post by Dog »

This is my current best guess - based on a combination of the things Neil’s given away and some (realistic) wishful thinking:

Dreamland
The Pop Kids / Vocal
Love etc.
I’m with Stupid
Flamboyant
You only tell me you love me when you’re drunk
A red letter day / Se a vida e
Hallo Spaceboy
Paninaro 22
Go West

Can you forgive her?
Jealousy (piano / vocal)
Where the streets have no name
So hard / Losing my mind
It’s alright
Left to my own devices
Domino dancing / Heart
Always on my mind / In my house
Rent (Hi-NRG version)
What have I done to deserve this?
It’s a sin (piano / vocal intro)
Suburbia
West End girls (lockdown version)

Love comes quickly (stripped back laptop version)
Monkey business
Being boring

Absolutely Fabulous and The Loving Kind are highly unlikely to appear.

And in the case of Absolutely Fabulous ... I am very glad of that!
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

Ab-fab was a top 5 single in UK anf Loving Kind their last top 10 so when it comes to greatest hits those two are in the league.

Anything that was a proper physical release single, not limited like Inner Sanctum or Fluorescent, or only released in specific regions like (the original) Paninaro or London. Some of the tracks will be segued by Stuart Price, some of the less well known songs like Singual-Bilingual and Together.

There’s absolutely no way that Ab Fab will be played, lol. And TLK is unlikely. I think there’s an outside chance of I’m not Scared, Losing my Mind, and NHBP etc but they very rarely play longer than 1hr 45mins so I don’t think they’ll want to waste too much time getting bogged down with other peoples songs.

I’d love to see Paninaro but it’s not 1989 anymore and I just can’t imagine Chris agreeing to being centre stage. I certainly can’t imagine him dancing again (especially as he not long ago said those days were over) but he did dance in the MB video so who knows. If they do MB then they better fill that stage with lots of dancers doing the MB dance!

As long as all the big 80s and 90s hits are there I’ll be happy!

Neil’s said they’ll be playing Losing my mind and Hallo Spaceboy, unless of course plans have changed. He also mooted the idea of them playing Paninaro, at the Manchester book Q&A.

…or Losing my Mind, Hallo Spaceboy and The Loving Kind….

I do like those songs but I’d rather they played just big massive well known hits that they released. The general public attending will not be too familiar with TLK. I think Spaceboy is too closely connected to Bowie tbh. If they’re gonna do other songs I’d rather they did I’m not Scared and NHBP because they were big songs and everyone knows they are PSB songs but I’d want to hear the version they did for Patsy with that awesome keyboard riff!!

You vote against Release, okay, but what’s with Yes, Elysium, Electric and Super? ;)

Love etc. was the last Top 10 for them, Leaving is one of their favourites and Thursday was (by far) the last track in the charts. Plus The Pop Kids as a US dance chart hit.

We are talking about Top 10 in UK. For example, New York City Boy was a worldwide minor hit. Being Top 10 in more than 5 countries (Number 3 in Spain, by the way ).

I thought it was Neil who said something about The Loving Kind to be included on the playlist (even She is Madonna). Although they are not real hits.

It's difficult to know what you can consider a hit on the Internet era (Youtube, Spotify, etc).

My bets are on every album to be included and as Neil said: they also want to play singles that he & Chris wish they were hits. :D

23 Segments with 28 hits and bits

[video intro with a blurring radio playing some snippets of their hits mixed with some interview snippets like Chris saying "I don't like country-and-western/I don't like rock music". The opening chords of So hard start. Lights go low and the 3 Ochestral hits flash the stage as they appear.]

Part I
So hard
Dreamland/The Pop Kids (mash-up)
Losing my mind
Go West/Was it worth it (mash-up)
Hallo Spaceboy
Rent (Hi-NRG)
Se a vida e/Domino Dancing (mash-up)
Heart
I'm with stupid
It's a sin (Disco mix intro)

[dance interlude Somewhere instrumental]

Part II
Drunk (acoustic)
Home and Dry (acoustic)
Love comes quickly (new dub version)
Vocal (1st verse & chorus)/Suburbia (mash-up)
[video interlude with TV live snippets to honor Dusty Springfield]
What have I done to deserve this (extended mix intro)
Leaving
Left to my own devices
Love etc./Can you forgive her? (mash-up)
Being boring
Always on my mind (dub mix segue into 7" after first verse)

Encore
It's alright (7")
West End Girls

but the soul is in the high hat, programmed in the system.

If it is true, they'll play "Being Boring" and "Vocal". Maybe "The Pop Kids" too.
