Everything they have said about the tour is contradictory.
They say they have never done a "Greatest Hits" tour. That is only true if you a purist about the term, i.e. only the actual greatest hits, no exceptions, no promoting non-hits from the latest album. But they have said there WILL be exeptions and they WILL be playing stuff from the new album. Add the fact that they don't do very long concerts compared to some big artists, there isn't really room on the setlist to have their cake and eat it (i.e. have all the greatest hits but lots of other stuff as well). Ergo this looks very much like it will be no different from any of their other tours.
I'm forced to conclude it is all just marketing, however much they're trying to deny it.

I don't know, the Electric tour was very bright and different at the time. How many older acts can spin up fresh closers like Vocal? Not too many with such conviction, I'd say.
Fundy tour similarly had a fresh vein to it
Sure there were the obvious "hits"
But how many long term acts have achieved such a depth of material, and fun album thematics, to add to their touring acts?
It's just really hard to make the gear shift into Go West on every tour, imo. Love the song, but unless it's a pointy-hats type occasion, it doesn't especially mix.

Exactly what I have thought but I didn't dare to say it.Nervously wrote: ↑Wed 26 May 2021, 1:07 pm Everything they have said about the tour is contradictory.

It is possible though for them to tick all of these boxes and still deliver something new and exciting for fans and casuals alike. There are plenty of rarely performed hits, however you define one. The hints they have dropped suggests this will be a great setlist with lots of under played gems:
Dreamland
Drunk
Hallo Spaceboy
Paninaro
Jealousy
Where the streets have no name
So hard
Losing my mind
Rent
Monkey business
Just for starters.

Well simple. Two songs I never heard live and that I would love to : DJ Culture and one song by Chris. If I heard these, I would be one happy gal x

DJ Culture definitely, it just doesn't get enough love.
Too Many People is such a bop that even though it's a B-side, it would go down a storm.

I've seen the set-list and it's:
1. Cricket wife
2. Email
3. What keeps mankind alive?
4. Red Letter Day
5. Metamorphosis
6. The night I fell in love
7. Before
8. Absolutely Fabulous
9. Decadence
10. Opportunities (Reprise)
11. Searching for the face of Jesus
12. Was it worth it?
13. Psychological
14. Homosexuality (cover)
15. The Samurai in Autumn
16. Night song
17. She pops
All the hots, basically.

About half of those are awesome, and I would love to see them played live.

Ridiculous. Was it worth it is one of their greatest singles, you ignorant.

Well if they are going to play stuff from the new album I think they would def play "Happy People" because of the whole happy people living in a sad world" which seems kinda apropo
and kinda obvious so I suspect if they have to play a couple off the new one, that and Monkey business would be them.

As hard as I strived to get into it, I can’t stand Monkey Business. I hope they perform Dreamland.

I Don't Wanna is the strongest of the Hotspot singles to me. Would quite like to hear that live.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they play “I don’t wanna” with some commentary about wanting to go out during the pandemic.glennjridge wrote: ↑Tue 03 Aug 2021, 2:06 am Well if they are going to play stuff from the new album I think they would def play "Happy People" because of the whole happy people living in a sad world" which seems kinda apropo
