Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller
I suppose one thing they have in common, is they both released a House cover version in 1989.

Fun track. But the negative video effects make him look a bit Jimmy Savile, with the white hair. And then he sings “fix it”
Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller
Can't stand Paul Weller now and never have. Pompous, up himself and revels in his own self-importance. Too fond of short, clipped syllables as well, viz 'Going Underground'. I loved the punk and new wave eras but so many better bands around at the time. I'm guessing the attraction is at an intellectual level for Neil though.
And at the end/ Your funny Uncle staring / At all your friends / With military bearing
Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller
Im not a fan of PSB remixing other people, if they have to put energy on something , it has to be a new album, they can do vocals on a great studio and Tim Powell can do the full production from afar,
With the right amount of pop songs it could be similar to Very/Yes IMHO

Yeah, that's the first thing I thought too.OakeyDokey wrote:He sounds a bit like old Ian Dury on this.
The synth sequence at the end sounds good. I bet Neil and Chris are going to expand on that

Actually he is not that unknown outside the Uk. Listen to "You do something to me" and you will probably say "ah yes I know this but did not know its name or the artist."Parkol wrote: ↑Thu 25 Feb 2021, 3:27 pmThank youElectronic Dave wrote: ↑Thu 25 Feb 2021, 3:20 pmFor those who may not know - Paul Weller he was the lead singer of The Jam (post punk) and then The Style Council (soul pop). Never heard about him. Probably, he is more local English singer who couldn't be popular in the world as Pet Shop Boys
Re: Pet Shop Boys remix Paul Weller
Nope, he's completely in the realms of the anglocentrics. I know he's famous in that particular country but it doesn't mean that much anymore.PSBForTheMasses wrote: ↑Fri 26 Feb 2021, 7:17 amActually he is not that unknown outside the Uk. I can imagine their remix turning the song into something similar to LCD Soundsystem. Promising!
